Pennib - I just wanted to say how brilliant your stuff is. I've been admiring all your pics. Do you sell it anywhere?
Thanks icandream I dont sell my stuff. I cant bear to part with them! Also a lot of time goes into them (I'm not particularly quick as I'm learning as I go along) so people wouldnt pay a realistic price.
Here is another photo but I'm running out now:p

This used to be a wardrobe. Kept the bottom hubs put a chipboard (from his stash) back on it. Very useful for storing junk (or high quality items as I like to think:rotfl:) and for sitting on as well.0 -

The bathroom sign is from local guest house when it was renovated they donated some stuff to a local charity shop and I picked it up for a pound! Had to talk hubby into putting it though
The suitcases hold vintage trims and other textiles.I have a real soft spot for vintage cases and have quite a few dotted about the place.Great for storage.0 -
Love the Bathroom sign............why so I never see things like that
Oh well, I've made a start on the kitchen cupboards...........was going to Focus for paint but OH didn't fancy driving 20 miles there and back in the heat so we went to the local shop and bought a pot of dulux -sort of sage green colour - £9.50 and there's enough for the larder cupboard as well so thats not so bad as I thought. All the kitchen cupboards are done now so maybe tomorrow,I'll do the larder one.
Then I'm going to look out a stencil for our bedside cupboards...........:j
Still struggling with idea about Dads tray...............Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Glad you've got started on the cupboards I like sage green are you going to post pictures? What about a simple stencil for the tray? What about painting it a lighter shade of the green (add a bit of white)too match the kitchen (if thats where you are going to keep it).0 -
Here's something thats not painted:p Hanging in the bathroom. I picked up a very large bag of shells in a charity shop for 75p and made this (about 15 years ago)Its a large mirror tile glued to a peice of plywood. The little crab that is on the top left hand corner was dead (honest) when I picked it up on the beach....I found the legs further on (is that too much information:o )and glued him back together again after a good wash first.

Hi Mumzy seen you over on the piggybank challenge I dont post on that thread BUT I was so impressed with the challenge I started to use my piggybank for the odd change or two. (Sorry I did open it tho and I have £60 towards my holiday)So if I hadn't spotted your challenge I would never have done it so thanks for that.:T
Back to this thread.....I dont think there is a challenge it is just a friendly chat about all things that are shabby chic. Either bought as such, or, made into something useful/pretty/desirable/gorgeous/wonderful etc etc you get my drift:D And to inspire one another, to make it as cheap as possible....either picking something up cheaply or adapting an item lying around/picked out of a skip/bought. To enhance our homes/gardens.Do you see what I mean?
Ohh cross stitch you hit a nerve there I love cross stitch:rolleyes: You could probably pick up a small cross stitch from ebay, or if you like I have a free cross stitch kit from a mag.....I'm always glad to get others cross stitching! I can send that to you. Get books from the library (that word again....you can tell I'm a fan of theirs;) )there are some that will give you the basics to start you off on this wonderful hobby. You do need patience tho....its not something that will grow quickly. One of my projects took 3 years on and off!! But that was a reaaallly hard one. I have taught my 2 daughter in laws and neice and my dd is also getting back into it. Its quite cheap considering, and use Ebay for my threads and material. Hope that helps:D0 -

What sort of paint was it Mary? And what was the colour's name? I am still trying to make a definite decision about my kitchen doorsWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0
