Have you checked out this site http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/
They have loads & loads of different papers and have a whole section dedicated to country cottage look.
You can send for a max of 2 free samples which are A4. I have sent for a couple, I will let you know what they are like when they arrive.0 -
Thank you all! I definitely wouldn't have started the chair if it hadn't been for this thread and it's lovely to have rediscovered something.
I bet you wouldn't have started on the chair if you'd known how many staples you'd have to take out
.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
the web page won't allow me to click on the wallpaper samples...
some of these look amazing, but i don't want ot spend that much on a roll of wallpaper and then find out that i need to repaintmy walls, or that is has a horrid texture...
hmmmm will have to try back later...

OK, so I'm starting to think seriously about making a kitchen blind and recovering my dining chairs. Where's the best place to get good fabric online? I had a quick look at Ebay but I don't really know what I want so could do with somewhere that's a bit more browser-friendly.0

Are you going to make a matching cushion?
Not done anything shabby this week as have been sorting stuff for Ebay.

Fab: do it! It's a fun thing to do. Really easy to line - I've posted pics of how I did it on my blog so take a look if that'll help. Total cost of everything was £6, and I needed exactly 1/2 metre of fabric (which I got in a LA remnant bin). A totally MSE project.OHHHH!!! Clutterfree: Yep, I've got matching but contrasting fabric to make a cushion - it arrived yesterday, and looks yummy. I'm very excited about that.

During my de-cluttering I came across some oddments of mdf -just the right size to make shaker-style pegs............does anyone know of a site with a few ideas on for these ? Thought I could maybe do them for pressies.
Also how do you paint mdf ? Does it need some special preparation or can I just put emulsion/gloss or whatever on ?
