  • I think was the Help the Aged in town.
Oooh where abouts are you then?

Do you think I will start a crush in there? lol
Anyone fancy buying my degree? It will only cost you £18k.

  • I nipped into my village to go to charity shops, got a few bargain ;tablecloths, silver serving spoons, floral print tin, large basket and a japanese pot. I will post photos, I promise. Now I usually get a lot, lot more than this on a monday, especially in the local hospice charity shops. I was chatting to shop assistant and she said that at 9.50am (the shop opens at 10am) two fellas were banging on the door to be let in. When she opened up at 10, they rushed in, grabbed stuff as they were putting it out, threw a £20 note at them and almost ran out.
Now they must have been quick because when I arrived at approx 10.05am they were long gone.
Now that is hard core thrifting!

Now I am trying to make up my mind if I should get the bus into town to check out those charity shops, or do you think they will be stripped bare?

  • daisy- whats the little village charity shops that you go to is it stockton heath?
i only live in runcorn and often pop into stockton heath to have a look round their charityshops
i have found that i never find anything when i go into warrington and have a look in their shops, you must get in there before i go !!!!
  • Yeah the village is Stockton Heath, it is so much better than Warrington its self for charity finds. They seem to have A LOT of new stuff in daily, whereas in town they seem to spend a long time pricing things and sending them off to 'more appropriate shops.' So if I have a day working from home I nip out at 10am for a look around. I have yet to come back empty handed.

    Hi Allyrish
I love your home - your piccies are great.
I particularly like the stone tiles from TKMax - did you buy them recently?
I'm always looking for things with the name Hope on them - it's so unusual you can never find a cup or a pen!:D

    Hope x

About 7 or 8 weeks ago - I think they only had them at the big out of town store, not the smaller town centre one.
I wish I could afford to move to Hope in Derbyshire, just so that I could say 'I live in Hope'! :rotfl:

Just to give you an idea of the size I took a pic of it next to my new Cath Kidston breakfast set (which I love with a passion :o )
