aww no we're far too nice for that!! I do think the seller has so many MSE watchers that they may have shill bidded. who knows tho!!

EDIT: would like to pick the brains of the vintage community... My Mum has a large Royal Doulton Fairfax dinnerset with numerous plates etc, she wants to eBay them, but is this something that shabby chic-ers/ vintage lovers would like? We have done a bit of research on eBay and they haven't sold for a vast amount, but I just wondered if this is the type of thing shabby chic-ers would be interested in? Any comments very welcome thanks :D

if they dont go for that much on ebay, it might be worth you contacting one of yuor local auction houses, and asking them how much they think it would raise in auction, and maybe consider putting it into auction with a reserve on it, plus dont forget to take into consideration the auction house's fees...

also if you put it on ebay, would it be pick up only, as i would be worried about sending it by courier or post for any breakages...

  • It would still be cheaper to go for one of the others, even if you had to pay courier charges.
    Madness.
The buyer is from Surrey just like the seller.Umm...doesn't ring true.the seller would be silly to have a shill bid as they still have to pay the selling fees aswell as the listing fees. Somebody has more money than sense either way!

  • Can't believe anyone would pay all that money for the cupboard on ebay?? We'll need to keep our eyes peeledto see if it is relisted;)

Elaine373, well done on your finds:T . I love the mustard stand and shaving mug.
Haven't done a boot sale since last year as it's been raining every weekend since they restarted:mad: . I hate going and just seeing dealers and stalls selling cheap soap. Roll on the better weather and the true decluttering booters:money:
