Oh no Mollymop, I feel your pain, I've just had all that tonight on ebay too and all over a bloomin old book!! Still I believe in setting a limit and if I don't get it then it wasn't meant to be. Why not post a "wanted - old dresser" on Freecycle.... you never know your luck!Yes the blue china on my dresser is Greydawn from Johnson Bros.... £7.50 the lot then a top of of plates (they chip in the washer) for £2.95. The white stuff on top is horrid and is Wedgewood from DH's first marriage.... I'd sell it and make some money if people would bid on it but I don't think it's very sought after. I don't mind the cleaning (apart from the Wedgewood which I leave covered in dust out of rebellion LOL).... although it does get clogged up with rubbish/letters etc but then the whole house is like that with so many kids.0

Thanks Rosy re the F&B: I didn't know that. I'll take a look at their papers.
Well, what on earth has this thread done to me. I went to the scout's jumble sale this afternoon...
and came away with...
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I can do huge images or tiny images. Can't seem to get them inbetween.Sorry.
Plus an old (full size) wire mannequin which needs something crafty done to it (this is becoming a little hobby of mine).
Then went and bought the Dimity, to try on the sewing box, and see what I thought for our woodwork. £13.50  No sample cards: just gone by the pics posted and what you have all said. Thanks, again, VP. :j
ALL BECAUSE OF THIS THREAD! :rotfl:
Honestly, I would never have given the sewing box a 2nd glance a few weeks ago. As it was I had to keep my head down when I walked back along the high street to the car as I'm still not quite sure what's happening to me! :rotfl:
So now I've got to do:
a patchwork wall
cupboards to blackboard (got the paint today with the dimity)
a sewing box to paint
plus I'm gearing myself up to make the first pair of curtains I've ever made in my life.
Phew!
(and I have millionaire's shortbread in the oven because of the grocery challenge!)
Thanks all. It feels good. x0 -

facepainter....PAINT the dresser....+ I love the blue china is it Johnson Bros...do you like spode english lavender as well? I am very into Woods at the mo, esp beryl
I swing between loving the Johnson stuff that we use everyday and the Woods stuff I have stored in the cellar!
I picked up a set of 10 cups saucers and side plates in the Jasmine the other day for £3.That adds to the 10 dinner plates I got last month for £3 aswell. In fact I've just been arranging it all on the shelves in my cellar.I have a little beryl too and just one plate of the Iris.
Facepainter I've never had any of my Johnson Bros stuff chip in the dishwasher.I'm so glad too as I hate hand washing!0 -

oOOh you little tinker what a bargin...I love jasmine & beryl, iris is my least fav cause I got lots of johnsons/spode which is similar. My latest has been an jasmine jug (50p) of which I have a few I just can't stop buying them! I bought a box of beryl for £18 I must have at least 50 cups so if your ever short of a few....I was keeping them for when I open my shabby chic B&B & tea room....be a few years if ever with the new baby. Although I did spy 2 beryl teapots in the AC warehouse so if they are there next time I will be buying them........OH rolls his eyes towars the heaven and asks how many teapots do we really need......Hoarders hoorah!
My other wish list id for a service of crown devon 'stockholm' esp for christmas dinner got a few bits but not enough for everyonesimplicity is key0 -
I have just made a start on the small projects I bought in the charity shop on Monday (egg rack and serving tray). They have been sanded and have now been primed. Will be painting tomorrow.
I was SOOOOOO excited today when in town I noticed a F&B shop! I've lived here a year and never knew it was there. I will be popping in there next time i'm in town.:T£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -

well i went to llandudno today.. there were a couple of charity shops well about four.. but i didnt find anything and i thought that some were a little overpriced aswell.. £14 for a pair of dolcis shoes.. no thanks!!
anyways i got a tester pot from homebase last night just from there kitchen paint range... it was a soft green.. painted some squares this morning but when i came home this evening its looks very acidy .. not very "soft!", i didnt want to paint the kitchen cream as my cupboards will be cream so dont want it to look like a big cream box. but not sure now.. dont want to do it blue as the light isnt right for blue..
so not sure now.. what colour would you go for.. im going to have cream cupboards and oak worktops,
lots of shabby chicness thrown in through accessories in shades of blues pinks and greens so what wall colour would go with this !!!0 -

Well, if you like blue don't dismiss it because you think the light is not right for it. Some blues are warm and some cold, you just have to find the right shade. Dulux colour cards have them all listed by type, warm, fresh, cool etc, have a look at those. Although cream or another neutral colour would look ok I think if you have lots of accessories to add splashes of colour.0
