Shabby Chic Thread?

Oh dear,
My wish list is growing again... I want
- a plate rack for the kitchen wall
- a bureau (was out bid by a dealer on e-bay  )
- Cath Kidston fabric
- MORE retro / spotty china
... and now I want Bibbly's sewing box too
More time would be nice as I have fallen behind on my F&B-ing due to the bad weather, and keep tripping over the half-sanded bedroom chair!
Try a Freecycle "Wanted" for the plate rack. Worth a try.0 -
I was watching Delia last night, but NOT for the cooking. She has a dresser full of china in her lovely kitchen. The cups and jugs hanging on hooks gave me an idea for my dresser, I wonder why I never thought of putting hooks into the shelves on mine to hang these on. Now, where can I get some lovely hooks!:rotfl:0

they sell the packs of white hooks in tesco in the £1 bins - not sure how many are in the packs but enough to do a dresser. plus the hooks are the big ones so no problem with any size cup handlesWin £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012

Mmmmm what do we have to do to start a weekly shabby thread??? and would you all agree that it would be easier??
I'm don't think it would be easier at all.Yes it is getting long but at least all the info is on one thread and you don't have to hunt the board for previous threads to find a post.
Maybe you could edit your first post with some of the blogs etc so they can be easily found.0 -
i just save the last page i read in my favourites folder - keep changing it as a new page is addedWin £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012

not strickly shabby chic but might be of use
tesco have now reduced their picture hanging kits to 25p they were only £1. anyway... but it is worth buying a few just for the little pastic box with the diff compartments for putting sewing needles in etc..
didnt buy any though even though they are only 25p each as i must be stricked with myself and start sticking to our weekly budget.. spend out now until thursday... so if they are still there then will get a few...
ooo ye plus they are good for hanging those shabby chic pictures up..lol....Work to live= not live to work0 -

hiya, when youre on this page go to the top of your screen and you will see a bookmark tab in the very top bar of the page (not on mse - on your internet page) . Click bookmark this page and it will ask you to confirm - click yes and it will form a drop down list of all the pages bookmarked and add this one to it so instead of starting at the beginning of the thread each time just click on bookmarks and the link - brining you straight to the last shabby page you marked. Delete and do this again every time the page moves onto the next and it will always be up to dateWin £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012

Just had a look at your lovely blog - I think that I'm right in saying that your wire tray with the black handle is one of those clever ones that you can carry by your side with your arm hanging down and you won't spill the liquid from glasses of drink, even if your arm moves back and forth a little as you walk. It would be really useful for taking food and drink etc outside in Summer, or from room to room at any time.
Good idea, it does have spirals that move side to side so that is probably what it is for :T
I have had quite a productive day today, you can see it in full on my blog! I have almost finished the ottoman
Off to cut some more hearts now, I searched everywhere for some pinking shears today and finally got them in a lovely little haberdashery shop after searching 3 towns!!!!0
