Last weekend I subscribed to Country Living and there was an offer for some fairtrade chocolate as a gift for subscribing. I thought that would be a nice bonus but assumed the bars would be small. Just now there was a knock on the door and a parcel was delivered; inside was the chocolate……but so much of it…….I’m gobsmacked. I've photographed it as I am so surprised ....its here

Thanks for the replies :) I figure buying tins off Ebay where you can't see the inside properly is not such a good idea then.
I bought all mine off ebay. You just have to ask the seller about the condition of the inside.Be specific and ask direct questions. Most sellers are over honest as they don't want negative feedback.

Hi everyone, have been browsing the thread and am green with envy at all your lovely homes. I really love the shabby chic look but unfortunately my home is just shabby! I have never really liked this house:o somehow no matter what I do to it it never feels like home - I always much prefer being in other peoples houses, is that weird or what!! My house is just so full of mess and rubbish and everything strewn everywhere that I never know where to start and any nice pieces I do have just get lost amongst the general chaos.

I love old houses but ours is a 70s box. We extended it at the back and it has made parts of the house very dark, need the lights on in the kitchen nearly all the time, not good if your mood is a bit dark anyway!

Any ideas on how I can get to love my home?
Do loads of browsing of interior photos. You can do that online through Flickr or Photobucket etc. Also at the library etc.I would have a good flick through all the interior magazines at the supermarket and find a magazine that suits your style. Then start putting together a scrap book of ideas. It's best to do this over a month or so and that way you really get an idea of what style you like. You'll see themes reappearing.
Once you know what kind of look you want start adapting it to your space and belongings.Work out which things are definite keepers and which can be adapted to fit then get rid of the rest.Maybe even raising a little cash in the process!Only keep things that you love.
You say that the room can get quite dark so you can play on that by adding lots of ambient lighting like small lamps and candles etc.Reflective surfaces help too like mirrors and glassware. So scour the charity shops for little things you love.
Take a queue from your favourite artwork and photographs on display and work those colours into your room.If you start with a fairly neutral backdrop you can change things easily with soft furnishing and flowers etc. Try not to stick to a very rigid colour palette or else things can become to look to staged and sometimes things stand out if they aren't quite the right colour.
Most of all have fun and the passion will really show in your home!

I did and they emailed me straight back (I mean like in a few minutes!) saying they would send a replacement (in sturdier packaging!).

    Well done them!

Now.. what colour to paint them? :D
