Maypole love your house and you are so lucky to have that view. I've always yearned to live somewhere with a sea view.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Thank you Ellidee, we do love our view, even though the house isn't that big, but we like it.0

Hi Rachelleblondel, I've just looked at your homepage and I love your collections and furniture. This is the sort of look I want for my new house - if we ever sell this one!!!!!
When we de-cluttered I got rid of drawers full of fabric lovingly collected from charity shops and boot sales. It was very hard! However, I did make some 'save the planet' shopping bags from a long length of brand new brown print. I've given some away, but kept two for me.
Love this thread!0 -

Thanks
I don't see a problem. Wash them well in hot soapy water, dry them in a coolish warm oven - if you see what I mean - so the enamel doesn't crack. Then spray them with antibacterial spray and let them dry. I would always keep the flour etc in their bags, but that's just me. You could spray with antibac every so often to keep them sweet.0 -

Checked your blog, the room is gorgeous. Where did you put the bureau that was in there?
It served us well but had to go.We gave it to our local Emmaus.I get so much good stuff from them cheaply that we felt it was right. They have workshops where they can fix things up before they sell them on and it's such a goot cause.0 -

My dilema is do I wait until the new local Homebase is open (about a week) or trot 2 minutes down the road to the expensive small independent shop (which I've only just remembered sells F&B). I know this is a money saving website but I'm itching to have a bash at my chairs!
Could anyone tell me how much Homebase charge for their oil based eggshell?
Hi Molly
F&B is the same whereever you buy it (unless you wait for a 10% day at homebase) The Oil eggshell has just gone up 50p to £13.50 and the other good thing about going to the independent is that they will probably have all the (oil)colours in stock where as homebase don't and you'll be helping a small business rather than fuelling the big chain take over....so a bit ethical too.simplicity is key0 -

It's funny, some things come up looking really lovely on a photo.
I have been reading what you said on your blog about how easy it is to relax, once the big jobs are done and then become complacent about the finishing touches, well, I still have a table lamp with a pink shade that went with my old decor a good few years ago now and I still have not replaced it with a suitable colour to match my room now, which has red furnishings and everytime I look at it, it jars! I posted some pictures in a previous post after your technical help. Thank you:D0
