Inspired by this thread I'm thinking of getting rid of loads of our stuff before we move.
Usually I would jut throw it out or even give it away, because I feel bad REALLY bad taking any money off people for anything, but I think this time I'd like to make even a few pounds on it to fund fabric etc for the new house, when we get it.
No car boot sales out here, so Ebay seems to be the way.
I want to be fair to people and honest, and not ruin the good reputation I've built up as a buyer.
Any tips from you all would be greatfully welcomed.
I've got loads of stuff that is still nice and in good nick, but that I would not really use any more as my taste has changed.M.A.C.A.W member number 39

Thanks for that list kisto, and for listing my blog on it :T hopefully once I'm in the new flat (4 weeks and counting....) I'll be updating a lot more.
It's not quite shabby chic, but I discovered last night that anthropologie are now doing international shipping! I fell in love with so many things in the shops when I was in New York, but couldn't practically bring a lot of them home with me. I had a browse around last night but the shipping and taxes came to £35  which isn't very MSE....as they're quite shabby chic I wondered if any of you lovely people had spotted anything similar to either of these on your travels? They don't have to be the same colour, just a similar shape/design.
ETA: The bowls are small cereal bowls, not a mixing bowl.0 -
I'm not sure about glasses, but I am sure you would get something similar to the bowl on Ebay (not sure colourwise though)... I love bowls like that and am certain I have seen them come up from time to time (I have some small ones, fingerbowl size that are cream on the outside and pearlescent pink on the inside.)
ETA: I am sure that Lidl had these at one point, in assorted pastel colours.. it might be worth your while keeping an eye out for them as Lidl tend to get the same stuff in year after year in rotation.M.A.C.A.W member number 39

i am sure i seen something very similar to that bowl in wyevale garden centre... a bit pricy to be honest... would matalan have something similar ?
i would sit tight at mo... as the spring and summer things will be in the shops from now on, so more chance of gettng bright ....floral... pastal coloured items....
icandream.....i am hoping to start painting the dumb waiter in the next day or too, as i am painting it the same colour as the skirtings etc in the kitchen... so to save cleaning the brush out i thought i would do it the same time....the colour is dulux crazt cream....so nothing too adventurous...lol...
so will try and post picsWork to live= not live to work0 -

Couldn't agree more. This time of year we all need something to give us inspiration (well I do at least) and it's made me re-think my house........so, now we have a nice old pine dresser where the dark green painted one was........thats now in the 'junk room' (must stop calling it that) ready for when we start on that so it'll look more like a proper ''room' - bit of a delay there though due to a load of plaster coming off the walls cos of earthquake !
Also made me dig out a little cupboard I was hanging on to (sentimental over a bit of furniture ?..........lol) and re-paint it. Should be doing that today but have to re-think where it will fit............won't go where I thought it would but I'll work something out.
This whole thread has given me a bit of a lift at what has been a depressing time what with my Mum being so ill..................so thanks very much .....keep it up..............its good reading as well as being inspiring.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
