I really wouldn't mind if people actually posted, similar to.
"I went for a loan with them, but I must admit I didn't read the T&C's and just ticked the box.
I now realise that if I had read the T&C's I would have seen a broker fee is charge, that it is upfront and that they don't actually provider the loan, they just try to find a loan for us.
I realise I have been stupid in not reading the T&C's but would now like my money back what can I do."
Perfectly acceptable as not everyone reads T&C's I understand that, but by just lying saying I never signed anything to say a fee was charged etc, sorry but no why lie, just admit you've haven't read them.this would be me.... I got a phone call from Sara at lunchtime and was so pleased when she said I had been accepted for a loan that I gave her my numbers - but I also told her that I couldnt pay the money until I get paid at the end of the month - so shes put a note for it to come out next week, and then I will get the paperwork (allegedly)
Im a numpty.
How do i stop them taking the money though - is it worth banging off a letter telling them im no longer interested and not to take any money and posting it recorded tomorrow?? or should I "lose" my bank card - would that be enough??? (as they have only got my card number and expiry date (yep - fell for that too, and Im SO CAREFUL always, what the ferk was I thinking??!!!!)
anyone?? please help a total eejit....Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

Go back over the thread and see what you have to do for a refund (hint: it doesn't involve phoning or emailing).
I take it you now know that anyone ringing you making promises is just scamming you?0 -

You need to write to them, don't phone or email them, but write a letter send it recorded post, to say you wish to cancel as per their T&C's. If within 14 days, which it is, you are entitled to a full refund, if they have already taken the fee.
If you are lucky they will cancel and not take the fee and that will be that, but usually these companies tell people that money won't be taken until a later date, but it is. Or if it isn't taken before, you may still find that even after they receive the letter it is still taken.
If they take the money, then they have 30 days normally to issue a refund.
If you have trouble getting a refund, then you will need to take it further via the regulator.
As much as you may like to rant and rave at them, it is better to keep letters short and to the point and send them a further letter if they still haven't refunded you 30 days later. Don't be tempted to phone them, as it is unlikely to get you nothing, but a large phone bill.0 -
Thanks - Im not phoning them, I responded to their email saying that I couldnt open the link inside it as my computer wouldnt let me and now what should I do - not checked my mails yet, but earlier today I certainally hadnt had a reply, Im working on the presumption that Im well inside the 14 days cooling off period for them to not take the money...
I cancelled my card this morning as well - hopefully that will be enough. We shall see.
Still cant believe Im such an idiot that I fell for it, but there we go. Live and learn !!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Well you have done all you can so far, unfortunately there is still a very good chance the money will come out.
I would still write to them and tell them, that you are cancelling, so they may as well not attempt to take the money as it will just prolong the situation as you are not going to change your mind.
As I said before though, you might end up with a fight to get money refunded and that is where people give up after one or two letters, so you may need to be really determined.0 -
Thankyou fozmcfc, will do that. (I had a wonderfully fun time with various people after my fathers death regarding his accounts - Im not scared of a fight with them if thats what it takes
)
fingers crossed !!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
I checked my bank account last night, and they havent taken the money yet - but the paperwork arrived in the post - Im tempted to send the paperwork back anyway and see if they miss that they ahvent had the fee !!!
(not really!!)
One thing I did spot though - which is something that Ive never really considered before - I was looking at the paperwork with the monthly payments on, now this loan was "offered" to me at 22% over 5 years, yet the monthly payments would be £345 which takest the % up to something like 67%.... how does that happen???!!!! Do all loans do this??
(besides they are a bunch of *&^*^&&£^"& and its all a crock of !!!!!...)Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0
