Ironically because people will keep on throwing money at them without conducting any kind of research first.

Spent a day or so doing research first via the internet and only got favorable (at least 90%) reviews on them. This is also part of the way they are being very clever at scamming people. They topped the ratings at the time on google - I know now how this can be done but at time didn't. They also have postings on otherwise official good financial comparison sites, that also list other reputable companies (and now seemingly other scams to be aware of) These sites should be accountable for allowing such companies to use them to scam others. Have now found they have 93% claims upheld against them by the OFT and will be taking the matter up through them

Which Internet did you search on??

This Internet we are on now is completely full of warnings, most of the first page of Google results are warnings about it.

I think you should install K9 Web Protection on your PC and filter out your access to ANY kind of financial websites.

Are you having a laugh? There is nothing clever about them, but it does say something about the cleverness of those who jump into it.
  • I have applied for loan application through wentworth finance and had paid £69 as lending fees. As they promised they will provide me the loan with £15000 with 22% interest. But I received the letter the loan will be £5000 with 67% and £999 lenders fees which is never been discussed. I applied for refund of my fees within 14 days as I was eligible for refund within 14 days if I dont want to go further for loan. But they are not contacting me by any ways,,not picking up my phones..when I am getting through they said you need to call Headoffice but at head office no is picking up the phone. Dont know what to do. I was in depth. And even £69 overdraft. now I am even more in problem. Can anyone suggest what to do to take them to court.

Isn't this pretty much the same comment you made on the 14th September?

Take them to court over £69? It would never be worth the bother. Just nag them (write, don't phone or e-mail) and they'll probably eventually refund you, less the £5 they are allowed to keep. And resolve never again to go near any lender or broker who asks for an upfront fee.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I can't help but feel a reply is pointless but anyhoo..

What exactly did you do to "apply for a refund"?
Did you write a letter and post it the way the instructions tell you too, or just make random phonecalls paying a fortune for each one?
  • luckily i had just received a new bank card so was able to cancel my existing card before they could take a payment! i have been spurred on to now sort out all my debt problems so that i am not falling in to these traps set by con artists!
