Patons has a nice beanie pattern for their Kroy sock weight.  It's out there on their website.

I've knit it several times and people always like it.

I have finished the main pieces of the cardigan. Now it's the front bands and the sewing up. Wondering whether to press before doing that, and to hunt down buttons, so I know how big to make the button-holes. Or am I just procrastinating?

    I’m assuming that’s a rhetorical question, @Savvy_Sue.

I’m determined to finish-finish a few things in October.  There are too many UFO’s around here that just need sewing up or ends woven in or buttons sewn on.  It’s beginning to annoy me.

I'm definitely procrastinating I have the wool ready and all the square ready in a big carrier bag. I have bought some yarn to knit the border it was delivered on Friday but I completely forgot to order a nice long circular needle so the weight will rest on my knee. I've knitted the monkey and looked to see how to sew it up.

The first instruction said gather up the bottom part of the body. I don't know whitch is the bottom of the body.

I'm so glad it's not just me! Do the instructions help, e.g. did you cast the same no. of stitches on and off?

But being pragmatic, if you can't tell the difference, does it matter?

LOL. I have one serious question. The pattern says to sew the raglan seams before picking up for the bands, obviously. But it says to sew the side seams and pocket linings AFTER knitting the bands.

My instinct is to do all the sewing up first - yours? Partly I just want one evil job left (the bands), and partly I think the fronts would benefit from being attached, rather than flopping around. Given that the sleeves are already in the round, I won't be able to lay it all out flat, even if that's the idea between the instruction.

    Thoughts?

I ordered an Addi circular needle from Zarelayarns on ebay which came through the letter box 2 days later.
    7mmx80cm with metal was £6.49 free p+p.
When I ordered they had all sizes in stock with or without metal.
I'm rubbish at links and the weather isn't helping the joints but hope this helps . I think they have a website too.
I'd ordered the same from Amazon a few years ago and it came from Germany and cost nearly £30.00 will p+p hence searching this time.
Hope you ok and coping with the lockdown. I have had you in mind re appts etc. You've probably got similar weather to me so stay warm and cosy.
