Patons has a nice beanie pattern for their Kroy sock weight. It's out there on their website.
I've knit it several times and people always like it.

I have finished the main pieces of the cardigan. Now it's the front bands and the sewing up. Wondering whether to press before doing that, and to hunt down buttons, so I know how big to make the button-holes. Or am I just procrastinating?Signature removed for peace of mind0

I’m determined to finish-finish a few things in October. There are too many UFO’s around here that just need sewing up or ends woven in or buttons sewn on. It’s beginning to annoy me.

I'm definitely procrastinating I have the wool ready and all the square ready in a big carrier bag. I have bought some yarn to knit the border it was delivered on Friday but I completely forgot to order a nice long circular needle so the weight will rest on my knee. I've knitted the monkey and looked to see how to sew it up.The first instruction said gather up the bottom part of the body. I don't know whitch is the bottom of the body.3

But being pragmatic, if you can't tell the difference, does it matter?Signature removed for peace of mind3 -

My instinct is to do all the sewing up first - yours? Partly I just want one evil job left (the bands), and partly I think the fronts would benefit from being attached, rather than flopping around. Given that the sleeves are already in the round, I won't be able to lay it all out flat, even if that's the idea between the instruction.
