I'm on a hitchhiker for myself, in ruby coloured silk, and the first of the xmas socks.
Morning Mar, where do you get your yarn from? I bought some from Loveknitting last year and found it a bit rough.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I once went to a Spinners Guild meetup in a tiny village hall waaaay out in the country - and it was lovely! They made a big circle in the middle of the hall and all sat there. hand knitting and spinning - and it was so relaxing. Really amazing, calm and funny too. Only prob is that it's such a long distance and I don't drive, so can't really expect the husband to drive me there, come home, sit for a couple of hours then drive out again to fetch me.0

The photo has affected the formatting badly. It needs to be re-sized a lot smaller, or removed
I have gone from sewing to knitting, the season change in me and have finished my second afterlight. I started a another light jumper, again a ravelry pattern but with subtle non-visible stripes and knitted in the round. Very long so I have left out a pattern repeat plus a few lines. Its going to be a good mindless knit as long as I keep the row counter up to date

After this will follow socks and more socks but I have managed to empty one box of stash with this jumper. Another box contains sock yarn stash
I am listening to audible as I knit, books I bought three years ago. Middlemarch at the moment, hard to understand the language in those days and very wordy but pleasant enough.0 -
I like the look of that jumper, kittie.
I'm listening to audiobooks while knitting too, though I should cast on some more mindless knitting since I keep having to pause and concentrate on what I'm doing in the pattern. Currently working on various colourwork socks, but once yarn arrives I'll be casting on a cabled sweater.0 -
I've just made a HH in Lana Grossa summer Lace. That has knitted up lovely and is soft.
I found some Merino in my stash that I'd bought from Hobbycraft last year. so started a HH with that whilst waiting for my delivery from Wool warehouse. I'm so disappointed in the quality. it's full of tears so I've had to bin it.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
what light do you use when knitting during the dark evenings? My light has blocked my melatonin, too bright and led, too much blue light, so hardly any sleep. I have ordered overglasses that can be worn indoors and which will block the blue but am trying to remember what I did before I got the reading lamp0

I have problems with light in my dark corner, currently using an Ikea spotlight but it's not terrific really if I'm using black or dark wool. In desperation once I put on the headlamp and it was terrific but the husband said it made me look like a maniac so I haven't used it again0

May I join in? Having moved house last year, the one thing I really miss is the fortnightly knitting group I used to attend.
Kittie - I've asked my parents for a day's spinning lesson for a birthday pressie next year.
I'm currently on a load of baby stuff for people who are expecting. I was in Skipton last weekend - loads of lovely YSs - and got some Hayfield Baby Blossom dk. It knits up in stripes with little flowers and leaves into the white/ cream stripes. Luckily dh was in another shop so I got enough for a small blanket in grey and a baby pinafore in apricot.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

watch out thriftmonster, lol, spinning soon becomes an addiction. Keep your first spin, it will be lumpy bumpy. I still have mine, crocheted a tea cosy with it
Mar, good idea about the head torch. I went through all my old specs this morning and there is an old blueblocker over glasses thing. Doh, I dropped it and the arms fell off. It feels so nice on the eyes, soothing and its an amber colour. There are two holes on each side from the arms, so I am going to put ear elastics on each side and wear it from 9 pm, while I am knitting. I need a good light for knitting, my eyes are getting older and I am not going to sit in front of a candle. All these modern lights are emitting an awful lot of blue light, no wonder so many people can`t sleep properly0
