Are you going to the Edinburgh Yarn Festival thing in March plumduff? I fancied trying to get to that if I'm ok. Glasgow's too far for me though.

Hi, I might go depending on how much I buy at the SECC the week before. I will keep an eye out for discounted tickets for the Yarn Festival and let you know if I see anything.

I always go to the SECC with an old work colleague and had never heard of the Edinburgh Yarn Festival till I read about on this thread.

Must get knitting superfast and then I won't feel guilt buying more wool in March :rotfl:

I frogged some of afterlight, down to the armholes. I read the threads on rav and some say that they wished they had added length and also some say that the v neck is too low, I don`t want to wear a modesty top underneath. I do like the jumper and want to make it an item that I will love to wear. Picking up the stitches after frogging was quite tricky, the yarn is quite silky, so I frogged another row while it was on the needles. I have ample yarn so will make it longer and will also raise the v neck as there is some straight knitting near the top. I could also increase the sssk by another one on each side so that it will all fit into the rquired space. Making notes all the time and also recording row counter numbers, as I think I will be making this top again

I am still having great difficulty with loveknitting, they received the returned yarn but have not yet refunded me. Don`t believe any of that gushy blurb on their website, I have just had to escalate my paypal disputes with them to claims. They are a shabby company and would not recommend them to anyone. They obviously don`t check carefully wrt shade and dye numbers and then don`t resolve any resulting problem. I will only be using a uk based company in future

yes thanks appolonia, I thought it was us based with online outlets in the uk. They are very americanised. Well paypal escalation certainly works and today received my refunds. However in my opinion, not at all a good company to buy from and I wish I had read the trustpilot reviews prior to buying. Water under the bridge now

I haven`t knitted for several days as I have been kondoing two big areas outside the house, involved lifting and moving heavy things so shoulders are a little achey and knitting will aggravate them. I am very in tune with my body and listen to it, ignoring what my head says but will have to try and stay awake until a decent bedtime. Not knitting makes me fall asleep in a chair. By the way, I am so loving my hm socks, will make more, just for me

Hand knitted socks are very addictive.. you get so used to them.
  • Hi everyone, I am knitted a boys matinee set in turquoise King Cole Comfort yarn and should finish the hat today then just bootees and maybe mittens to finish.

I can't recommend KC Comfort yarn enough. It beautiful and soft and I know from things I've knitted for the grandkids that it machine washes really well. It's a mix of 60% acrylic and 40% nylon and comes in pastel shades as well as lots of bright colours. I don't have shares HONEST :rotfl: I just love knitting baby things with it.

I've been gallivanting a lot this week so not so much knitting done but will get more done this week.

    Happy knitting xx

Well I have gone off my gloves all together. last night my DD sent me this.

    http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter08/PATTfishy.php

I forgot to read the pattern, needed to get into the food market before they close at 4pm. It is on two needles and I don't fancy seams on gloves, think they may be uncomfortable. I have very sensitive hands since my cancer treatment.

The hat is on DPNs so I will have plenty of practice knitting it for DGS before I tackle the gloves again. I am finding it difficult to get 90 stitches on the three needles without twisting them. The beauty is you can use up scraps of yarns and vary them for each child.

Has anyone got a tip on how to stop them twisting?

I do gloves on 2 and 4 needles maggie and do very slow careful flat seams, I find them ok but you might be more sensitive. I don't like hats so never knit them :)
