Got to Aldi at 12.45 to-day, very little left in line of wool, got 2 balls of baby wool at €2.49 and five balls of double knitting for €4.99...no sign of needles as I could have done with the big sizes they advertised in their flyer.
Still knitting for DGD3, she is tiny so some of what I had knitted before she was born is too big...she and Mammy were on tv on Friday, they were doing some survey about maternity services....and she was wearing one of my knits so I feel famous!!
Good knitting to all, off to do some more as yesterday was too busy

Last time I went to our local wool shop I bought some lovely soft chunky baby wool, no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I'm sure I'll think of something, it was reduced to £2 a ball.

I googled Wendy Narvik and it came up with some suppliers who have a sale on at the moment. Down to around £1.50/£1.65 a ball. May be worthwhile you having a peep at these:

Hello! I only just caught up with reading this thread (I love knitting!) and when I saw this post I thought of the online wool shop that I use- it has great prices! The Narvik wools are 89p a ball, I haven't got this wool before, but others from this shop have been great, and delivery was fast too.

Jellybeans - what a fantastic site. I love the way that they show the wool and you can go to patterns from there - I always fall in love with the yarn first.
Site is now bookmarked!Always another chapter0 -

Hi apologies if this topic has already been covered.
As a MSE DFW I'm looking to knit two baby blankets for my two new nephew/niece (to my two brothers) which are due on the same day in August. Therefore I've plenty of time to get my act into gear and make a lovely gift for each child in true MSE style.
However one problem I have is that I'm looking for a modern pattern and wool which to make them in. Its difficult to describe but I'm not looking for the traditional baby style thing but something in strong modern colours and style. I will know it when I see it.
My local suppliers - wool shop and wool stall on the market are pretty useless unless its baby pink or blue. When I used to live near a John Lewis they used to have some nice patterns and wool generally but pretty expensive plus I wasn't into baby knitting then!
Can anyone help by pointing me in the right direction of a shop or website.

Found these blanket patterns, one of which might do:

Don't bother asking for baby wool but choose what ever you want to make your design. I would advise avoiding anything very fluffy to avoid the possibility of choking.0 -
Hi Everyone:hello:
The free gift on this month's Simply Knitting magazine is a gadget for counting rows, increases and decreases and repeats all at the same time.
I am trying to kick the magazine habit but just HAD to have this one,
