Well I've finished my bag and it's in the washer for felting.
Hope it comes out OK as I've never done it before.
Have looked at the headband pattern Orkney - very clever the way it looks like cable. Will have a look and see what yarn I have as I need something for over the weekend.
I have ordered my Big Softie yarn online, but it hasn't arrived yet.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

I've done a quick search but can't find anything about knitting with bamboo tape. Does it just knot as chunky wool or would I have to buy a special pattern for it?
It says on the pack to knit with 5.5 pins but all my patterns are for a 6, so can't I get away with using 6 or would I have to knit maybe a smaller size?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Are you a member of https://www.ravelry.com ?
If not join, then do a search for bamboo tape under yarns....it comes up with a few different yarns and if you click on them it tells you all about them, comments etc, suggested patterns. hthErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I didn’t want to spend too much on yarn for my first project, so asked in my local yarn store and was recommended 2 types which were reduced in price.
The first was Sirdar 100% Eco Wool DK. Great, but only in dark colours, so I bought some of that and another yarn as a contrast.
This was Sonnet Traditional Wool DK 100% Wool.
I knitted my bag and used different width stripes to vary the colour between the 2 yarns.
When it was finished I worked in all the ends and put it in a pillowcase. I washed it with jeans and towels at 60 degrees.
The result is that the dark colour has begun to felt, although it will need another wash, but the light colour had not felted at all.
I have now washed it again on a higher temperature, and it's now in for the third time.
Think I'll be speaking to the shop that sold it to me as I asked advice about wool for felting!Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Hello,
I'm having a nightmare time with a pattern and really hope someone on here has the info I need.
The pattern says Yn fwd k2 tog. I'm not sure how to do it.
Do I bring it forward, slip a stitch, take yarn back, knit and psso? Is that the same thing?

Bring the yarn forward, put your right needle through the next 2 stitches on the left needle and knit them as one stitch.Oh dear, here we go again.0

Did you manage to sort it out cuddles?

Hello
Just thought I'd pop in to say hello. I've knitted on and off for years and years and years, probably since I was in my early teens if not earlier, and go through phases when I knit a lot. I always have a cupboard full of yarn of one kind or another. I sense another "phase" approaching.
To ease me back in, I have knitted a quick scarf and rosette which, if anybody is interested, are on my bl*g.
I look forward to getting to know you0 -
Morning Georgiegirl/everyone
Welcome. I'm fairly new to this thread as well. But it's lovely!
Cuddles, I've seen your bag on ravelry, it's gorgeous. You are so enthusiastic, you make me want to try new things that I have never tried in my 50+ years of knitting.
I am plodding on with my 3 WIP's. Socks of course, hoodie jacket in acrylic which is looking more wearable since I've blocked it and sampler cardigan to use up bits. That's looking fun, but I think it's going to be hit or miss for size, as it's made from various different brands of acrylic. Good job I've got GD's in different sizes!

Just noticed I said plodding on, doesn't sound good. Probably something to do with waiting for reply from the taxman and OH's imminent redundancy on Thursday!0 -
