Hi
I have recently started knitting again after stopping and starting many times over the years. I have come across a book called 'big girl knits' and it teaches you how to adjust any pattern to suit your shape as well as having patterns in it. I have only seen it online and wondered if anyone has read it and if it was any good?
I don't want to waste money and the library doesn't have it
thanks

I can be a bit of a yarn snob at times but I figured that it was only for a tea cosy so ordered the DK. it looks and feels quite nice but I've not started knitting it yet. It took about 4 or 5 days to be delivered. the bee one looks nice too!
Oh, and the instruction look easy to follow1
Thanks for that, I won't feel so bad about saving a couple of quid and hubby wouldn't know the difference anyway :rotfl:
Think I will go ahead and order it. Am hoping to get it knitted when he's out for the day and I can spend the day with mil trying to get it done.
Wish me luckDid owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

I knitted a hooded cardigan just before Christmas and it looked lovely but I think the wool I used was cheap and nasty cos it's now all bobbly and clumpy and everytime i put it on it gets bigger and bigger and has lost it's shape? I really love it so I want to re-knit it but with better wool (it's DK by the way). Can anyone recommend some?
I don't want to spend a fortune, the pattern recommends a certain Norwegian brand but if I buy that it'll cost about £50 and I don't want to spend that much.0 -
i'd recommend sirdar wash and wear crepe, sometimes kemps online has it on offer. the wash and wear crepe an older friend told me about it, lovely to knit with, and washed extremely well. i have bought some myselfenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0

Can anyone recommend a budget wool that is good for felting? I've just used up a load of tapestry wool odds and ends for a bag that has felted very well and I'm keen to do more but don't want to go splashing out on Rowan or something equally pricey until i'm a bit more confident (can't frog it once it's felted so a mistake would be costly).
Most of the cheaper wools either have too low a wool content or are superwash which doesn't felt.
I've just finished a bag with wool from here which is lovely but the colour range is limited to naturals and I'm looking for COLOUR!
Any ideas?Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
