  • I'm sorry if ive worried anyone with my post about the car accident. It was mainly to show that we dont always know where something is going to come from, in this case money. The buddha that I rubbed is a carving from a piece of chinese rough jade and no idon't still rub this one any more but i do rub the belly of my other buddhas, i have quite a few, only these are all Thai buddhas which are said to be more gentle. I also wear one around my neck. If anyone wants Thai buddhas you may find it difficult to buy them as they are not really legally allowed for sale out of Thailand but there are some sellers on ebay who do sell them. I have mine imported by my son who lives between the uk and Thailand. I do find that money does certainly increase when i rub the thai buddhas but not to the amount that the chinese ones will bring as the thai way of life is just enough for today because tomorrow i may not need it, in other words i may not be here tomorrow.

And I suppose with the 7 large pebbles, you'll also be saving water!
  • Stay mystified - don't think too much about it, just accept with good grace and a grin!

out of interest, your articles - did you ask for that kind of money (a new found confidence and positivity?) or did the buyer name the price ?

I only bought my buddha from bluewater about a week ago, so not very authentic!!

He's a coppery/bronzey colour, and i think he's holding the wealth basket above his head?

maybe i should have got a different one, i know different ones mean different things??

Does anyone else think there's something faintly sacreligious about having a load of Buddhist religious artifacts around when they aren't Buddhist? It's a bit like me having crucifixes or menoras everywhere just because I think they look nice, when they are very spiritually meaningful to others... it seems somewhat offensive to me to use this kind of thing just for decorative purposes/feng shui.

Not in the slightest - and who is to judge anyway?

That's interesting. I have mixed beliefs. ie I believe in Karma - what goes around come around (isn't that from Buddhism? could be wrong) even though I wouldn't class myself as Buddhist. Yet I was baptised and confirmed a Catholic, and though I agree with some of the principles there are other teachings in Catholicism I'm afraid I just cannot agree with, which is partially why I don't go to church much any more. Confused? Me? Never!!
