Thanks for that, Im going to give it a go this weekend. I bought mine from ebay but when it arrived I discovered that the sachets included were dated May 2009:mad: I tried it anyway but I didnt like the look/ taste of it and I was afraid to risk eating it. I've got a new, fresh easiyo Greek to use so will try that plus your method in the next week or so.:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -

I bought a vanilla Easyio sachet on special(they were being discontinued), it was still had plenty of time from the due date. Made it last week and found the consistancy stretchy. Has anyone found that with them?Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

That happened only once when I'd forgotten the yogurt and left it about 30 hours. I'd started it at a higher temp so that may have contributed. It was almost plasticky
Otherwise every one has been perfect.0 -
"Stretchy" sums up the description I was trying to find for the custard style one perfectly.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I bought an electric yoghurt maker yesterday from Lakeland. DH eats a lot of yoghurt but the natural yoghurts he likes (Yeo Valley) are just so expensive so hopefully this should pay for itself in a few weeks. I don't have a thermos flask big enough, mine only holds about a mug and a half of coffee, so thought this would be a good investment after seeing a post about it on Thriftlady's blog0

Hi I'm a newbie, both to this forum & Easiyo.
I started off using the mixes - bought about five. Anyway, despite following the instructions to the letter, I had a 2:3 success/fail ratio. Also the mixes aren't cheap.
I've gone through this topic and have gleaned loads of info. Yesterday I made my first 'non-mix' yogurt.
3/4 litre UHT milk
Four heaped tablespoons of powdered milk
heaped spoon of live yogurt
I threw it all into the inner container and put it to 'brew' as per easiyo instructions. Result: yummy, creamy, lovely yogurt!
Have started some from yesterday's batch and it's lookin' good!
Thanks, everyone!Debt-Free as of 12th September 2017

Well done, Sile! You've done far better than I have, I'm far too nervous to "do" one from scratch. Those are nice clear instructions for anyone new popping in at the end of the thread

Hi
Crept up to my easiyo this morning to see the result of my latest 'experiment' Lo and behold a lovely - v thick yogurt (rather like the 'set' yogurts in shops or fromage frais). I should say that to this latest batch I added a drop of vanilla extract (not essence) and a spoonful of ordinary granulated sugar. I left it for around 12-14 hours. To use a local expression - I'm chuffed and have a feeling that the yogurt will be gone by weekend.
