    Hi Sile001

Me too! Newbie to the forum and the Easiyo.

I made a (strawberry) mix which was lovely and was polished off in one day. Then made a natural from UHT, powdered and a couple of spoonfuls from the batch made. It was quite sour actually so added a bag of frozen raspberries and a couple of spoons of sugar into the blender. Now we have had drinking yoghurt to die for!! Not exactly money saving but definately tasty.

Not sure how to flavour it cheaply yet though - maybe jam?

If you're lucky enough to grow your own soft fruit (blackberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, etc. ) you can cook them down, strain them and add sugar to the liquid to make a delicious syrup. I've used this to flavour my own yoghurt. Instead of adding the requisite amount of cold water to the Natural mix, you add some syrup and top it up with water to the required amount. If you don't want to go this home made syrup route, there are flavoured bottle syrups you can buy. Or of course, you can simply pour over some syrup once the yoghurt is made when eating individual portions.

Just wondered: I've gone mad and now have almost 2 litres of yog in fridge. Some will be frozen to make my next batch. However, if I don't want to eat all of the yog at once - can I divide it up, freeze it and thaw it for re-eating or would this be unsafe?

I think that it is okay - I'm sure I read on here that it was good to add fruit and freeze into ice lollies - that implies that freezing it is no problem.

I've been freezing mine in small containers recently mixed up with fruit or nuts/raisins. I just take one out in the morning for my packed lunch. The only problem is that sometimes there is quite a bit of whey (liquid). This is easily resolved by adding a few oats to the mix which absorbs it.

Im a newbie to easiyo, made my first batch (Greek) last week and it turned out fine, made a batch of strawberry last night and its not set at all. I didnt do anything different in in terms of following the instructions - any ideas what went wrong? I've done it again this morning to see if it will set later. I bought the sachet off ebay, but its dated dec 2010, so I would have thought it would be ok.

There seem to be quite a few of us who have had problems with getting the flavoured Easiyos to set. I'm wondering if there's anything in the flavouring which could possibly counteract with the natural culture. Any food scientists out there who can throw any light on this?

I made my first batch in the electric yoghurt maker at the weekend. It turned out great, a wee bit thinner than I'd ideally like but next time I'll put a bit more powdered milk in to thicken it. DH has been scoffing it all week and has proclaimed it to be a great success.
