Lakeland are sending me a box of the strawberry in replacement - great service.
They suggested that the water may be too cold in this weather. I think someone suggested leaving the water aside so it comes to room temperature. In the past I made some of my own yoghurt with 1 litre UHT full fat, 2 tbs greek yoghurt and 2tbs dried milk powder. I then strained it and it was fabulous. This was done in the Easiyo.
I have only had two let downs, the raspberry and one day a mixed berry low fat one did not set but it may well have done if I had left it a lot longer. I just chucked it.
I really don't think you should use hot water atall should you?

Well....I'm pleased to say it was a success! I used UHT skimmed milk, 3 tablespoons of skimmed milk powder and 3 tablespoons of tesco healthy living natural yogurt. I was concerned it would be very runny as I used skimmed milk and it seems people have had trouble using it but its fine, not the thickest yogurt ever but easily as thick as any low fat yogurt I normally buy.
My method.....
After mixing everything together I filled the easi-yo flask with boiling watter to just above the 'baffle', i then put the yogurt tub in, lid on and wrapped the whole thing ina towel. My 'space-invader' (OH's words!) was then placed next to a radiator, stood on a box to keep it off the cooler floor. 7 hours later I had yogurt!
I've brought some to work with me with a teaspoon of lemon curd mixed in!
I have to say, I've always eaten yogurt but having made this one myself and being fully aware thet I have basically just made milk go off on purpose I am now feeling a bit aprehensive about eating it! Must get it eaten and get over this daft fear!!!0 -

You need boiling water in the flask, I have now standardised using warm water with the mixture and leaving for 24 hours and the resulting yogurt is great. I have a Raspberry one I'll make up next to see if that also has problems, but so far all the ones I've done have been fine.0 -

Sue - I meant hot water in the container thingy. You sound quite an expert at all this,.:) I reckon in my case it is just that the water is too cold and maybe the house is too. It all worked fine before but the raspeberry was always thin.
Lakeland customer service is amazing though. I never really expected to get a replacment. Nice one.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

No not an expert just experimenting successfully at the moment
My kitchen is down to 8C at night now so I did the same, wrapped the flask in a towel and stuck it in the living room! Strawberry half finished so should be on to raspberry by the weekend, with child agreement0 -
I made raspberry yoghurt yesterday and it has come out beautifully this time
after a bit of trial and error (and lots of useful advice from here) I think the first failed batch was just a case of user error!

Just ordered an EasiYo yoghourt starter kit from Lakeland as it had really good reviews. Has anyone used one? Would appreciate any tips! Am hoping to make low fat yoghourt for us all then add own fruit etc.
Thanks0 -
We have used it a lot in the past and like it - it can be a cheaper alternative if you eat lots of yoghurt although I suspect the wonderful folks on here will tell you how to make it without having to buy sachets:eek:0

Hi alfsmum,
There's an earlier thread with lots of advice that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.
