I just noticed on the Lakeland site there were about four complaints about the raspberry not setting.
It probably is worth complaining to Lakeland. You may get a voucher by way of compensation. I think I will do so now.

Edit. Just sent an email about the problem

I'm beginning to wonder whether these failures to set are as a result of faulty product but if nobody complains to the manufacturer, we may never find out. So please complain to EasiYo - does anybody have a contact address for them as I couldn't find one? However, I have complained to Lakeland, which is where I bought my product.

I wrote a message about an hour ago asking why it went wrong as I did follow the instructions carefully.
When I get a reply I'll let you know :)

I got an easyyo in the lakeland sale plus a pack of 'greek'. I tried that and it was delicious. Unfortunately rather calorific! When I have made yoghurt in my yogurt maker it always comes out slimy. I got a single of low fat from Graves the other day. Apart from it being in a bit long, so is a bit tart, it also worked well. Next plan is to try it using UHT milk.

The weather has been cold, so I rinsed the flask out with a drop of boiling water before filiing it up.

First of all my greek yogurt yogged perfectly in my glass jar heated yogurt maker - I was not willing to take the risk of wasting another batch!

Anyway I emailed Lakeland and told them about the problem with the raspberry and I had a lovely email back offering to refund or replace. I ordered about £50 worth of Easiyo with them and all the others have been ok. They were interested in the serial batch number, but as the box and packets are all out in the bins in the freezing cold with about 12 inches of snow on them, I explained it was a bit difficult to supply them.

Very nice email. I have heard Lakeland customer service is second to none though.
    This has proved it.

Is it not Murphys law that the Greek is delicious and high calorie, while the low fat one is tart and not as nice? I have the Bio skimmers one and though it is okish, nowhere near a nice as the full fat Greek one. (naturally).;)

i "experimented " using a coupleof tablespoons of the easi yo greek yoghurt i made yesterday with uht milk but it is mor elike natural yoghurt and no where near so thick and creamy i shall try again once i have bought some powder milk and see if that makes it thicker also try addingmore boiling water inside as another poster recommended . wish me luck

i have some coffee mate in do you think that would work instead ofmilk powder? just a thought

    My yoghurt didn't set!
Is there anything I can do, what a waste of money....

Dont lose hope as this is the easiest way in the world to make yoghurt. Seems like many that are failing are using the flavoured yoghurt. Try the greek or plain one.

Make sure you dont put too much hot water in - you dont want to kill the bacteria. Are you using cold water from the tap ?

I've spent ages looking through this thread for the optimum way to make yoghurt and thought it may be a good time to post a summary....

    1. Use UHT (full fat = thinker yoghurt) which has been warmed to a room temp - certainly not so hot that you cannot leave your finger in it
    2. Add 3/4 table spoons of milk powder to make it nice and thick - make into a paste first so that it does not turn out lumpy
    3. Add two table spoons of fresh ( not older than 5 days) yoghurt. Make sure you know the age it was made e.g. if buying from a shop when was it actually made and dont go by the sell buy date. Best to use some of yoghurt you made a few days before.
    4. Leave in a warm area or in an easy yo maker
    5. Always use clean stuff - right from the dishwasher is best and the plastic easy yo containers are great.
    6. Leave up to 8 hrs and then chill - perfect !
    7. Whey may form each day - dont worry either pour away to make your yoghurt thicker or mix in.

Thought I might post this again for anyone who is interested

I personally would not use boiling water as you are going to kill the bacteria:confused:
