    Hi

I spent a couple of weeks um-ing and ah-ing whether to invest in EasiYo as i eat natural stuff (Yeo Valley in preference) every morning. In the end i plumped for a thermos and made HM following Ted_Hutchinson's recipe (page 1 of this thread). It turned out great and i'm converted! However....

This week i bought an EasiYo from Lakeland and i think that's great too! Especially for 'sweet' yoghurts for DS and DD. I've made the berry drinking yoghurt and that's gone down a storm! Much cheaper than the Munch Bunch Drinkies that they get through.

So, having tried both methods, i can vouch for them both! EasiYo is great for flavoured yog, and the greek one is pretty darn good too. HM in a flask wins on cost but didn't prove as popular with my sweet toothed offspring.

Now, anyone know how i can make Toffee flavour?

    Hi Caris :)

I've added your post onto an earlier thread about easiyo which is full of comments, plus tips and help, which should give you some food for thought. (Pun intended :))

You'll need to read from the beginning to catch up.

    Good luck :)

    HI

My Easiyo came 3 days ago. I got it 33% cheaper in an offer from the Lakeland site. Then I went on a voucher site and got £10 off if you spent £25. Can't remember exactly but I think I had to put in DW1 as the voucher. So my Easyo was under a tenner then I bought sachets till it came to £27 and got the lot for £17. Since then I have made the greek - fantastic. Following advice from this site, I put a teaspoon of yog into each ice cube compartment and froze them. Yesterday I made a litre with 2 ice cubes into a carton of UHT skimmed from Lidl. This morning I turned it out - perfect!!. I have also tried their slimmers natural yogurt - fantastic and set solid. I left the easyo for 6 hours each time as I like a mild yogurt. We are well yogurted at the mo, but, well, I'm excited. mam and dad are doing OK out of it too!!!

Is there a cheaper Own Brand manufacturer of the EasiYo powder base yoghurt sachets? I make my own yogurt from these initially and then use my own culture for a couple of subsequent batches. But I would like to try some flavoured versions rather than the Natural Bio one and find the EasiYo product expensive.
  • I don't know of any alternative brands but I usually only use about a tablespoon of the Easiyo powder as a starter for my yoghurt - and warm it up before putting in yoghurt maker. I then add jam when eating.
  • I bought freeze-dried powder culture from the internet, can't remember the supplier but it's made by SACCO and is for commercial use, but you can buy a small sachet and keep it in the freezer. You just use a level teaspoonful per pint of milk. It has a freezer shelf life of about a year so no problem. It's not that creamy, but I only ever use semi- skimmed milk, so might be better with full fat.
  • Has anyone tried the Easiyo ice cream? I was up late last night and got suckered into buying some on QVC - I thought I read on here somewhere that you can get the sachets of easiyo ice cream in Julian Graves but can't find that thread now. Is it cheaper than QVC and is the stuff even nice? I MUST learn not to watch QVC late at night!

Yes you can get the ice cream for Easiyo from Julian Graves. Sorry can't vouch for taste or price comparison with QVC though.
