I did mine in a flask, which we bought in the States about 15 years ago! It's intended to keep things cool, but used to use it at work to keep soup hot and it did the trick. Nice wide neck on it.

Love my easiyo I bought a few days ago and thanks to the tips on here its fun experimenting.
I just have problems getting yoghurt when I make it myself with powderded milk, uht milk, live yoghurt (I use yeo valley) It goes lovely & thick but just doesnt taste of yoghurt. Left the last lot in for 24 hours and it still isnt yoghurt flavoured. Could it be that the yoghurt needs to be at room temperature rather than straight out of the fridge.
Wasted 2 batches trying to add more yoghurt etc but still the taste isnt nice.

Hi I have just bought a easiyo and have bought 2 of the powder mixer that you buy with them. But I think it will work out more expensive than buying yogurts. I have since seen this thread and wondered if someone could tell me a fool proof recipe for making yogurts using normal yogurt and milk ?? I just don't get it. Thanks

Hello all, I'm a long time lurker of the thread and was looking for some advice.
I made my first batch of my own yoghurt in my easiyo and it was a disaster, very runny. I used UHt full fat milk, 3 heaped teaspoons of milk powder and a couple of heaped teaspoons of starter.

I then tried an easiyo sachet and that was perfect, really thick just th way I like it.

I tried another attempt at my own yoghurt and it's runny again. This time I used 3 dessert spoonfuls of starter (what I had left over), 2 heaped teaspoons milk powder and UHt milk full fat.

Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong? Are my expectations too high and my own yoghurt will never be as thick as the easiyo packet?

    Laury :)

Yes, I think you have to be more generous with with starter and the milk powder. The quantities you were using were too skimped. This of course will make each batch more expensive to make but at least it won't get wasted. You may have to use trial and error to get a consistency which suits you
