HMV - anyone else waited ages for their order?

i'm waiting for 3 umds orderd about the 20th dec! but my brother really wants them, its family guy, boart and night at the museum, any ideas where they are in stock so i can canel my hmv order?

I waited 3 weeks for a Creative Zen Stone that I ordered before cancelling. They didn't even email me at any stage to say that it was delayed.

Then I also ordered an iPod that was supposedly in stock when I ordered it. I didn't come.

I cancelled both orders and now steer a wide course.

Play took the biscuit though. I order a computer game in Jan 07. It arrived 6 months later and they charged my card then. I completely forgot about it.

Well eventually I got a refund of the e-voucher. I then placed an order in three separate batches... And guess what? They all say 'awaiting order from supplier' (or whatever the stupid message is). I give up!

I'm still waiting for an item ordered beginning of December.Everytime you order from these nowadays you have to expect a long wait and then you might not even get the item.

I ordered from them about 2 weeks before Christmas and only got an email saying it was to be cancelled 2 weeks after Christmas, not impressed at all. Then they sent me an email saying Sorry it took so long for us to contact you!!!!!

I've ordered about 8 things from them over the past 18 months... 3 of the orders never arrived and the rest were, what I would consider to be, pretty late - at least by Play.com standards! The 3 that were "lost in the post" (i.e. stolen en route or at dispatch) were refunded/re-issued without quibble... but, again, I've never had such problems from Play.

Granted, the late purchases were made around Christmas time so I appreciate they may have been quite busy but if they can't manage delivery in time for Christmas then they shouldn't advertise that they can. Again, I had no problems from Play.

If you hadn't guessed, I don't think I'll be using HMV again. They're sometimes cheaper than Play but for the extra £1 or so I like to know that I'm actually going to receive what I'm paying for and within a respectable time frame - usually within 5 days from Play (and at HMV you have to wait 21 days before you can even flag up a missing order).

i had to sign an order lost email too,and it was a prety impressive email.They asked if i was happy to answer any inquiries the police might have.All this bother for my order ,hmv prices are good ,service is bad.

Had similar issues with HMV and have vowed never to order from them again.

Ordered twice and both times had to wait weeks without them fulfilling the order. In the end i cancelled both times and ordered elsewhere.

I ordered 5 DVDs Nov 2006 for an Xmas pressie . All 5 said "In Stock" when I ordered them . However after I had placed my order it said "Waiting for Stock From Supplier" in My Account . 1 came a few days later , 2 in Dec , 1 after Xmas and 1 never turned up so I cancelled it in Jan.
Very disapponting and I've never ordered from there again .
