HMV - anyone else waited ages for their order?

I ordered with HMV nearly two weeks ago and still my status for all the items says 'item to be ordered from supplier'.
Usually I receive stuff from them within a few days, 1 week at a push so am wondering if anyone else has been waiting a long time too? And yes I know other retailers are cheaper but I had gift certificates to spend.

BUT I had one order which I gave up and cancelled after 2 months, and have a current one which I ordered on 06.12.07... (Apparently they're waiting for it themselves; and have it on order with the supplier?!)On the up

^Yes, that's what the status of mine is has been saying too. I had a feeling I was never going to get it so I got them to cancel my order... which they did very quickly... but they didn't credit my e-wallet with my gift certificates! ARGH. :mad:0

Thanks for letting me know - glad to know it's not just me!! I'm gonna ring them tomorrow to get them to put the gift certificates back into my account as I'm a bit concerned that my order's cancelled but I haven't been refunded
You'd think a huge company like HMV would be better than this - all the items I ordered were apparentely 'in stock' so I don't know why it's taken them so long.
Next time I need something quickly remind me NOT to shop at HMV...0 -
It does says its on order from supplier-some things do take a long time to come in. It depends on the item, what is it? The order hasn't been cancelled, it will be they are having difficulties getting hold of it. Not last christmas but the one before ordered something for my dad that took ages to arrive-but it was a strange panpipe album that was not readily available at suppliers. However it did come as soon as they could get hold of it.
Seems odd thats it the whole order-and what you say about it being listed as "instock" at the time, so I'm curious what it was.Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0 -
^I have cancelled the order myself and bought the items elsewhere. Will just have to keep the HMV vouchers for another time.
It was three items: Punch drunk love dvd, an exercise dvd boxset and a cakebox of 25 Maxell DVD+rs. All still say in stock on the listings, so I think their site is a bit deceiving! :rolleyes:0 -
Normally I find them pretty good but last order I placed I waited 2 weeks for the item to be delivered:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Thinking about it I had an issue with ordering the Spaced box set a while ago, I ordered at sale price-can't remember for certain if it was in stock but don't it was. The sale price disappeared from site (still in my order) a few days later and the full price was "in stock", few more days and my item still wasn't shipped. So I contacted their CS and they had to cancel my order and re-order manually, which meant I couldn't track its status online (grr) but I did get it shortly after at the original price I ordered at.
So in future if it does it again maybe be worth contacting them direct as it sounds like they have a bit of a screwy database that gets confused. Not that it really encourages you to shop there but seems a waste not to use vouchers!Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0 -
I ordered a PSP game 3 weeks ago and it's still showing 'from supplier' even though it was 'in stock' when I ordered it. I have checked again today and the same comments. My son was using some Christmas money, looks like this Christmas is when he'll get it
I'll be checking out other sites today as this doesn't look too good0
