HMV - anyone else waited ages for their order?

HMV are well known for not delivering goods for months and months (bit like tesco jersey)

with HMV if its not shipped in a couple of days forget about it and get it elsewhere

I waited 6 weeks for an order before I gave up and cancelled it before christmas. Then I had to wait 2 weeks and lots of emails to get my e-vouchers credited so I could order a different wii game for dd.( which came in 3 days tho)
I think if an item's in stock you're usually ok, if it says 1 week or 2 weeks or awiting stock steer clear.

yes all the time so realy try to avoid them at all costs

I have never successfully managed to order anything from HMV. I always end up giving up and cancelling after 2 - 3 weeks.

i have managed to get something twice

this is out of probably about 20 + orders

in fairness though a lot of these orders were for old xbox/gamecube games that were being discontinued and they wernt able to fulfill all the orders

not that they manage to fulfill most orders (even when the items just out/current)

Interesting to see that loads of people have had problems! I thought it was just me. I ordered a game for my NDS and it came within a few days... that was last November. Things really seem to have gone belly-up since then.

Their customer service is appalling, I emailed days ago and am yet to receive a reply and am loathe to call their 0845 number as I'm sure I'll be on hold for ages. I just want my e-vouchers credited back to my account... Grrr.

edit: is 0845 the same as the expensive 0870 numbers??

Will have to mention this to my son as he ordered something from HMV the other day & it's still not arrived, he ordered something from play.com after that & that's already here.

I've placed 3 orders with them recently, well 2 really, the second item arrived and the first one never turned up at all, even though the website said it had been despatched some 2 weeks previously. I rang them and they refunded the money on to my credit card, and I placed the order again, on the 4th January. It still hasn't arrived, so now I've cancelled and will go elsewhere.
