When I look at the original debt figure now I can't believe we bought so much utter crap and useless stuff!!:rotfl: Week after week we'd go shopping and come home with bags of stuff that we actually thought we needed:rolleyes: , handing over the credit card and debit card to pay was like playing russian roulette, we'd never know if it would be rejected. I never want to go back there again.:o
Don't get me wrong we are VERY pleased to be paying it off and never thought we would actually do it so quickly. It's been quite a lesson though and it's not been easy no matter how it looks. When I pay the final payment, I'm going to go and have a drink, no matter what the time of day:rotfl:Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -

Well nothing much to report at the moment debt wise. OH has been paid and we have £1200 to either put towards the debt or put into the savings pot towards our holiday fund. I could do half and half but don't really see much point as I have paid the minimum cc payments so our debt has actually reduced by £150. Would love to see the debt halve but I think the holiday fund will win the day that way we'll be half way to that total and I won't feel so stressed about it.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

I'd pay off the first national and save the rest, the other two are 0% anyway

Hi thanks, actually First National is also 0%, we took it out pre LBM over 4 years to buy some sofas, it has 4 months left to run - feels like we have had it forever!
I miscalcualted our savings and actually have £1705 because I have a SO from our bills account account the day after I get paid for £500. My salary goes into a seperate account and covers all the bills including mortgage and childcare and there is usually £500 left after all this has been paid which goes direct to our savings acc. OH's pay just goes towards our monthly budget - food/petrol/spends and we strictly budget this, that way we have around £1200 left from his salary to go towards debt repayments/savings/school fees. So I have decided that this month I will transfer the £1200 to holiday savings, that means we will have £2905 in the pot, nearly half way there, next month we'll concentrate on clearing the remaining debt.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -
