right - bit of background first... i am an oddball. It is true. Because i HATE ALL cold condiments. Ketchup, salad cream, mayo, mustard, then moving onto anything else cold and savoury such as potato salad, colesaw etc etc. I am strange its true but i LOATHE them! Cold and sweet is fine for some reason!!! And i love cooked sauces as part of dinner such as pasta sauces, bolognaise etc etc.

Anyhoo - i love the middle of mini savoury eggs. The eggy bit. I KNOW it is mixed with mayo but some how because i havent made it/seen it and cannot really taste it, i can cope!! lol.... which leads me to think i might like egg and cress sandwiches. Cos i like egg, i like cress, i like a sandwich as much as the next person AND i am always throwing eggs away which is a waste! So ... how could i make egg and cress sandwiches taking into account all my loathing for cold condiments??

    (Help!) :o

  • Why not just mash up and add butter with S&P.

Or make a batch of hard boiled eggs and add the tiniest amount of mayo/salad cream and mix in well, keep tasting until you like it so you're not adding loads of the condiment making it the main focus of taste. Either add cress to the top of the egg mayo or mix through it.

Just use bread, butter, egg and cress ;)?

How about spinach with egg -that's tasty or finely chopped tomatoes and ground pepper as sandwich fillers.

Or use the leftover eggs to make an omelette (is that spelling right? It doesn't look right...).

I never have leftover eggs because they can go into cakes :D

Can't add even a teeny bit of mayo eeeuuurgghhh lol. In fact forgot to mention. It isnt just that i cant eat cold condiments... if i accidently put my finger in ketchup or something left on a plate it actually makes me gag  seriously! I have been known to more than gag (iyswim) on occasions where i have got a blob of cold sauce muck on my hand etc :o So i couldnt mix it in LOL

Sorry i am such a pain in da asss!!!!

What you need is a seriously good friend...

they make the sandwich, adding a bit of butter or whatever at a time.
You meanwhile can make lemonade or something else and not look at what they're doing.:D

Sounds like an afternoon of fun and finding out who your friends are and whether they can do this.

    Good Luck.

Just slice the hardboiled eggs with one of those egg slicer things and pile the cress on top.

I usually make egg sandwiches with scrambled egg. No need to add any sort of mixer then. Wait till the scramble is cold before making. (Although I rather like the sandwiches when I make them with still warm (not hot) scramble.)

I like egg sandwiches, with the bread spread with cream cheese (ie Philidelphia) and just the cold sliced boiled egg and cress on top. Its a nice creamy alternative to mayonnaise.

Could you use some of your loved cooked sauces, spread or mixed thinly in your egg sandwich? Also, wondering how peanut butter would work?
