skintchick - exactly how much of the cooking does he do? I'm serious - put your foot down now or you'll spend the rest of your life (if the relationship works) adapting things for him with no give or take. Set him the challenge of cooking a series of his fave meals for you.Touch my food ... Feel my fork!0

My dad is the worlds fussiest eater and his partner loves cooking and cannot do any. She started to make 2 meals each time and then said enough is enough. When we visit we get lovely home cooked meals, my dad will sit at the table with a cheese sandwich he has made!!!! lol !!!!
Put your foot down now or end up like my situation.0 -
I adopt a leave/pick out what you don't like, I refuse to limit what I cook because one person doesn't like it. My Dad is a very fussy eater and for years I watched my Mother pander to his narrow pallet which in turn reduced the variety of foods my sister and I could eat. Mrs MATH and the MATHLETTS eat almost everything put before them, if there are things the MATHLETTS don't like (mushrooms) they do swapsies or leave them.Life's a beach! Grrrrr! I don't see why his culinary problems should become yours... why not cook delicious wet and saucy meals for you, and he can forage for himself?
Or get him to do the cooking for both of you. It's not biologically programmed that the girld have to prepare dinner.0 -

AS yet, he has cooked me nothing! We've been together a couple of months, and spend most time at my house (wekends only) and when I have been at his we've so far gone out on birthdays and other dos, so he hasn;t had a 'chance' to cook for me yet.
He says melted cheese is an absolute no, and he even has toast dry rather than have butter, so I think I have to work round him rather than force him to eat stuff.
Some lovely ideas in here though, thanks. Gives me a few things to be going on with, and I think I will have to insist he cooks for me fairly soon.
HE did say if he doesn;t like something he will say so and leave it  I said if he does that he will go hungry. I think that's really rude - I'd eat something someone gave me even if I didn;t like it, but then I hate upsetting people. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

When I married dh many moons ago, the foods he wouldn't eat........
pasta
rice
liver
kidneys
chinese
indian
mexican
peppers
courgettes
(actually most vegetables except peas and carrots)
until one day when I really fancied a lasagne (which at that time he wouldn't touch). So I cooked one, and told him 'I don't mind if you try it and don't like it - you can sort yourself something else out - BUT - if you don't even try it I shall be upset'.......guess who was on his seconds before I was halfway through mine:rotfl:
Not much he doesn't eat now - he gets withdrawal symptoms if we don't have Indian at least once a week. Although I'm still working on swede....

My bf is a chef, and he always moans that he cooks all day at work and then has to cook for me all the time too.
But....
whenever i cook for him, he moans, he complains, he interfers, he asks why i am doing what i am doing, he scorns, he tuts, and eventually takes over.
I have given up!0 -
:rotfl: You would all stop reading halfway through the list of things my OH won't eat.... I gave up trying to get him to try new things..... but now I end up cooking different meals as I won't eat boring meals every day.... I blame the mothers myself.....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

OH eats everything (except pancakes and tuna), and is happy to eat all my experiments. He seems to love my cooking...Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0

Skintchick - is he really worth all this effort - remember you could have this for the next 50 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My brother-in-law was like that, wouldn't even try anything different - sister-in-law worshiped him - she's been a different person since he went.0
