My lo is terrible at eating if he has a snack too near lunch/tea so have stopped that, he eats everything we eat, we were told when ds1 had probs with eating that kids should have half an hour to eat, any longer it should be taken away, worked well with our kids:j although ds2 is still fussy with his green veg!
Have set mealtimes, stand your ground, if he doesnt eat his lunch/tea then dont give him snacks as this is just rewarding the bad behaviour, it could be a habit he has got into which u now need to break, or else it will get worse.
Did he have a bad reaction to the avacadoes? could be he is scared of eating some food, in case it gives him a reactionjust a thought.
for lunch lo will get a sandwich and a proper meal at night, ie meat, fish etc
Hope u mange to get him to eat more, it is stressful when kids dont eat, but u will get there
Hugs

Hi all,
I have a new bf and he's really fussy about food, but I want to stay in budget AND wow him with my amazing culinary skills (natch) so cna anyone help me with recipe ideas?
He will not eat:
melted cheese
cream
butter
wet sauces
Which kinda wipes out most of my recipes! I do him chilli, and traditional meat and veg, but he only likes boiled potatoes, which I don't like, and I REFUSE to cook two different meals (I am not making a rod for my back at this early stage!)
He does like fish, and cous cous, and all meat really, and says he will eat some sauces like casseroles, but nothing too 'saucy' whatever THAT means!
Just thought someone else might have ideas, cos most of my 'nice' cooking involves butter and cream!
Thanks for any help!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hi, what about :
pesto and pasta ,nice with salmon,
Chicken wrapped in parma ham with mushrooms stuffed inside
spag bol
curries
tomato pasta sauce with lots of different added things
chicken fajitas
I am looking at my inspiration for this as my DH will not touch onions, and is extremely fussy as his mum did cook two meals. If he likes spicy food i think you can do quite a lot of dishes.ill try and think of some more for you.0 -

Grill, Grill, Grill
Tuna steaks ruubbed in poppy seeds and pepper.
Don't boil potatoes... Steam little baby spuds (I particularly the Vivaldi variety form Sainsburry)
I have a brilliant recipe for a spicy pork fillet served with couscous.
Basically, dice the pork fillet, and roll it in a mix of
1/2 cloves crushed garlic
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground coriander seeds
1 tsp ground cumin seeds
2 tsp of olive oil
Then grill it until just past pink (Don't overcook!)
There was a sauce as well with reduced down orange juice and barbeque sauce but we generally don't bother and have some Thai Sweet Chili sauce with it.
For the couscous, start with frying an onion, add a diced red pepper then add your couscous and wet with stock, just the amount of liquid recommended on the packet. Fluff it with a fork (add a discreet bit of butter) and serve.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
I have been with OH for almost 7 years and I can remember (he denies it) him telling me that he hated 'wet, saucy dinners'.................he now nags for stew which doesn't come much more wet and saucy!!!!....so my advice would be slowly slowly introduce wet dinners in there:D Before we lived together I alternated chilli and spag bol or roast!!! (twice weekly for about 4 years!!! and trust me they don't remember the lack of variety!!!
As a mum of 3 boys ( ) it is my life goal to make life easy for their future partners by not pandering to their every whim (its difficult i tell ya!!!) I plan to write a book on 'how to be a mother in law.....what not to do' !!!!.............0 -
