I can only pray that Iat least get it half right.............but I will never ask (not even in jest) 'are you feeding him properly??' or when he hurts himself at football (a self inflicted injury IMO!) say 'does it need one of mummys magic kisses??!! '....................................what can I say I love him!!!!:rotfl:0

You poor devil! I have a DH who won't eat melted cheese either which took a good 50% of my repertoire off the menu. He wouldn't eat bacon either but I slyly stuck some in, now his favourite meal is leek, bacon and potato pie but I still can't slip the melted cheese past himOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hun, ditch him!

What you doing over here mate? Have you run out of people to flirt with over on DFW?
Skintchick - not sure I can be of much help, but sent you a PM & glad you are happy! :j :j0 -
My OH used to eat practically scratch all too, but I played hardball and theres very little he now wont touch ( aubergines & courgettes, but im working on those)
I get the feeling from this
He will not eat:melted cheese
cream
butter
wet sauces
that hes struggling with fat based sauces, and heavy cholestrol based sauces. Not a bad thing really! Maybe you need to investigate this more.
I use a lot of light sauces often from diet books such as weightwatchers etc. Many are made with a bit of flour, skimmed milk, drip of slimline marg. What about sauces "on the side" eg we do pork steaks, veg, rice and pepper sauce?
What about chicken ( turkeys cheaper) and mushroom lasagne? Or chicken pies? In fact will he eat any pies?
Roasted veg, on the side with fish, thats moist enough not to need a sauce?
Theres a nifty veg moroccan casserole which is basically veg/chopped toms/ cumin - can he manage that its much lighter?
What about salsas? can he manage those? You dont have to stick with the traditional tomato salsa, you could try a mango or pineapple one? Guacamole? Sour cream - or creme fraiche? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Could it be the way he's had them cooked before? Could be he might like somethings if you 'forgot' one day and did it anyway!!!
I had a friend who swore blind she hated mushrooms, esp fried ones - till she got a new bf who cooked them differently to how her mum had and now she loves them!!!!!0 -
Hi,
This is a good 'dry' recipe:
Minted cous cous with lamb cutlets and roasted veg.
Add hot stock (I use a lamb stock cube) and some mint sauce to the cous cous.
Put it into a mould......I use a small round sugar bowl for this and turn it out it in the centre of the plate in a mound.
Take three grilled cutlets and place bone end leaning on the mound of cous cous.
In between the cutlets place small piles of oven roasted veg (courgette, mushroom, red and yellow pepper, red onions and garlic drizzled in olive oil).
This meal takes minimal effort but looks and tastes great.
