I am no longer leaving ANY feedback for my buyers in protest at the ridiculous new system.

The way forward is to check what kind of feedback buyers have left for sellers. It does give you a good idea about what to expect, like if they want the moon on a stick, they want the item 3 weeks before the auction even began, they want you to pay them to have the item, and pay the p+p, the postie must wear a golden jacket and sing Stevie Wonder songs when he gets to the buyer's house...you get the idea.

The only problem is, as stevew8975 has pointed out: sniping.
Hmm.. I was just thinking about this and the other problem is that bidder IDs are anonymised until the auction finishes. So you can't actually view the feedback they leave for others until it's too late to cancel the bid.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that even with an auction where the IDs are private, the sellers can still see who's bidding on their items? I always thought the IDs were just hidden to other buyers but not the seller?

I was just thinking that. I've just sold something and was happily checking feedback left for others every time a new bidder came along.

Does anyone know if the feedback changes still apply to transactions earlier than the changeover date? I'm just slightly worried that any buyers from last month that haven't already left feedback can leave negatives or neutrals without any comeback

The system has rolled out at different times for different users but it looks like all sellers can now only leave a positive for buyers regardless of when the item was purchased which in turn means buyers can leav eany feedback they like.

i don't know whether this has anything to do with unhappy sellers but ebay US have announced a 15% sale on FVFs from May 23rd to June 1st:

I wonder if ebay UK are going to offer any little sweetners?
