Maybe sellers could watch bidders feedback and if they read bad reviews then they should just cancel that bid surely?

I'm glad my feedback has now jumped to 100% feedback as a buyer after i was on 99% from a seller 3 years ago.

I would never sell to anyone who has poor feedback and i'd just put on my listing that those bidders with poor feedback will be cancelled. I would trust someone with over a 500 feedback score with a 100% positive.

Kimberley, with sellers only able to leave positive feedback for buyers how can a seller spot a bad buyer? All bidders in future (or at least after a year when the new changes have been in effect and knocked out all old negs) will have a 100% positive score, even if they have scammed and threatened their buyers throughout.

Therefore each month the neg stays there it will carry more and more weight as my monthly feedback number wise goes down. So that negative becomes a higher percentage of my overall score each month that I carry on with less feedback coming in. This works in my case as I went from being a high turnover seller with lots of feedback to a low seller *but* got the neg after I had stopped selling the large quantities and within weeks of the new system coming in.
Sounds like you need to bury that Neg by making a large number of sales.

sorry to have to ask, but I want to leave feedback for my seller, and can't find where to do it now??? Ive got 200 feedback so I'm not exactly new but can't see anywhere where to leave my seller feedback.

I feel kind of bad on her, the item inc p+p was £1.49, got it today, the postage was £1.63 and she will have had to have paid paypal..do you you think i should offer to pay the extra as she has made a loss on the item...

Edit: Please ignore that..I have found it now...but the button wasn't there before!!

So by staying the same seller I have always been and not changing my treatment of buyers at all my feedback could easily drop to such a level that I will be seen as a bad seller..great isn't it!

We've not sold anything on ebay for quite some time now for a number of reasons one if which is the way ebay have "improved" things.

In the last 12 months we have had amongst positive feedback, 2 neutrals.
Our feedback has dropped to 96.9%.

Even if we wanted to sell with this account in the near future I can't see anyone wanting to buy from us with such a low rating.
Thanks alot ebay thats really useful!!!

I'd buy from you! Depending on what you sell of course.:D
I'd look at the neutrals and your follow ups. It's usually pretty obvious to spot the dozy buyers.

The way forward is to check what kind of feedback buyers have left for sellers. It does give you a good idea about what to expect, like if they want the moon on a stick, they want the item 3 weeks before the auction even began, they want you to pay them to have the item, and pay the p+p, the postie must wear a golden jacket and sing Stevie Wonder songs when he gets to the buyer's house...you get the idea.

The only problem is, as stevew8975 has pointed out: sniping.

I was talking about the changes the other day with a friend. He thinks it won't be long before we see buyers bidding on newbie sellers and negging them with the words "welcome to e**y".

With all due respect, the postage charges are displayed on the listing BEFORE you purchase, so if you thought the charge was too high, then maybe you should not have bought the item....?
    thats exactly how i operate
if i dont want to pay excessive postage i skip the item
if i want the item bad enough i'll pay the postage - i dont ever winge about the postage though as its not like i was forced to buy
