It's not a feedback percentage it is the total of complaints plus neutrals plus negatives plus stars that you have. If all those complaints put you into the lowest 5% of sellers bracket you get a warning and a temporary suspension.

This is why sellers need to be very careful not to trigger Non performing seller complaints, or to get silly with post and packing and endanger the stars.

Thanks - I don't have to worry just yet.

I also recently left a seller positive saying nice product although the postage was a bit high... and she left me neutral in return saying I'm a whingebag, that she should have left me neg to teach me a lesson and that my postage costs weren't cheap either! (mine are 5p more than what Royal Mail charges me to send the package, so that's a lie!) So it will be nice not having to suffer from horrible sellers, my feedback score has gone down to 98% because of those 2 seller's!

With all due respect, the postage charges are displayed on the listing BEFORE you purchase, so if you thought the charge was too high, then maybe you should not have bought the item....?

Oh I understand that, but because it was a fragile item I assumed this would be spent on secure packaging, and it wasn't. She had alot of complaints from other buyers about her extreme postage costs. I mean, £5.00 for something that costs £2 is ridiculous. I thought eBay were trying to stop that too!

eBay are relying on the self-policing option to enforce that one. Dissatisfied buyers "should" be leaving low DSR rating's for postage, and/or non-positive feedback, so other buyers can make an informed decision using the information displayed before purchasing.

While people are still willing to pay over the odds for postage, sellers will continue to charge over the odds.

I've just had another horrible thought, I'm all doom and gloom today (is it too early for a glass of wine I wonder?)

My one negative means my current yearly total stands at 99.8% down from the 100% it had been previously. However (bear with me this is going to be one of my complicated explanations!) my feedback score is going to get worse and worse regardless of what I do in future. When I got that negative I was maybe selling 90 items a month and so it was all but buried. Now I have made the conscious decision to stop selling the majority of my lines which means i maybe list only half of what I used to, and that means of course my feedback, even if it is all positive will start to go down as the 'year' for calculation moves on.

    Are you still following this?

Therefore each month the neg stays there it will carry more and more weight as my monthly feedback number wise goes down. So that negative becomes a higher percentage of my overall score each month that I carry on with less feedback coming in. This works in my case as I went from being a high turnover seller with lots of feedback to a low seller *but* got the neg after I had stopped selling the large quantities and within weeks of the new system coming in.

So by staying the same seller I have always been and not changing my treatment of buyers at all my feedback could easily drop to such a level that I will be seen as a bad seller..great isn't it!

It's a massive problem for small sellers where you can find yourself suspended because of poor performance and then no way of improving it as you can't list anything.

Nor can you negotiate to withdraw feedback any longer, and I am now hearing that suspended members can not even use the ebay messaging facility.

The next few months will be very interesting to watch - as long as you are not an active seller!!!!.
