just paid my road tax online and signed up for another year of the sharesave scheme for dh at his work, first payout will be 2010, pity it wasnt this year:D

dh being his annoying self, keeps talking about florida! if he doesnt get a better paying job soon there is no way we can go back next year, let alone anywhere else.

just been to tesco to get a few bits and bobs, got bandages etc to refill the first aid box, guy at the checkout asked who had been in the wars and that the dvd we bought( apollo 13 for ds2 as he has book on that just now for school) was rubbish, his opinion and did we know it was 21 years today that the challenger accident happened, cheeky sod!!

    right know it all:rotfl:

    afternoon campers

well what a waste of a day .... remembered that a man was coming round this afternoon - no nothing naughty - just someone from the housing association to check the boiler. well called them at about five to say that I would have to go out .... put me on hold .... we're very sorry madam but the person who made your appointment forgot to book an engineer. If its any consolation he is no longer with us ... well i hope he wasn't shot and buried under the patio for his misdemeanours - the funniest thing is that it was she who I spoke to last week. I remeber thinking at the time what a lovely voice she had :) - rebooked for two weeks time. Just think of all the exciting things I could have been doing with my time - things like ......... or ..... oh well
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Hiya!

Hilstep So glad that you had your family with you over the weekend to share happy memories of your mum.

Haribo Good luck with your op on Wednesday.

I don't know how many times I say to DH 'I told you so...' but once again I did today. He had a dodgy tum yesterday and had a bad night last night so he was still not 100% this morning. I told him to stay off until he was well again but oh no, the whole school will fall down if he doesn't go in!

So after being out most of the day I returned home to find him sitting in the front room with a head injury!  He had walked through a fire door which he found out later was damaged and didn't open properly and split his head open on it. There was blood everywhere and his pupils were going hysterical! So after cleaning him up he was sent home on the train (so kind of his Headteacher). I said to him 'why didn't you phone me?' and his reply was 'well you were shopping', which of course is far more important than collecting my injured husband from work!

He's much better now and his headache has eased and of course he's going back to work tomorrrow. So I've told him he better not get dizzy and fall down the blinkin' stairs!:rotfl:

I've done a fair bit of running around today, shopping, visiting various banks, checking parent's house etc. I made an enormous shepherd's pie for tea and we only managed to eat half of it so we'll be having the rest tomorrow.
I've also made a big pan of soup using up the broccoli stalks, cauli leaves, carrots, potatoes, onion, garlic, stock, pine nuts and various seasonings. I then added some milk and blended it and it's so nice. I didn't want to throw any of the stalks, stems away and I found the pine nuts in the cupboard and they add a lovely flavour to the soup. :D

Tomorrow's plans include a visit to the Tip to get rid of a few binbags of unwanted junk, post my last Ebay parcel (for a while), visit the chemist and PC World, give the house a good clean and get the girl's hair cut after school.
    Have a good evening.
  • Hello

The rotisserie chicken was yummy so moist and juicy i am stuffed must make room for the raspberry trifle i made yestrday, I cooked a 1.4kg in 1 hour and 15 mins i have read some of the recipes in instruction manual they look great i am well pleased, Still deciding what slow cooker to get??.

My mums carer just poped in and gave me a food mixer boxed as one of her clients was throwing it out, It's a Philips Hostess Kitchen Machine from the 1970's reading the instructions it say's 1976 it's mint and all like new still has all it's protective plastic and warning stickers it's never out of it's box shreds, grates, liquidiser, mixer and Bread machine looks great and it's sitting next to my kenwood chef a901 that is also a great workhorse in the kitchen.

I am off to have some trifle :o

I am so sorry, not been in touch this weekend or even kept up with you all. Decorator coming Wednesday to start the kitchen off, plus other things. Had to dismantle wall cupboard. Plus side is that so much total rubbish and has been put out!

Started to take the before pictures and then will do the after. It is a huge upheaval going over weeks but it will be worth it! It is all about the other things clearing the hall and porch for the flooring!

    Love and hugs to all.

    Evening everyone

Well the good news is the bit of arthritis I have in my knee is not rheumatoid. However, they found my thyroid a bit raised. They want me to repeat the blood test, with other tests in about 3 months and if it is still slightly high then refer me to a specialist for that. No idea what this means, but the new anti-inflamitories he presecribed me certainly seem to be working, and now he is going to reduce them slightly, a bigger dose twice a day instead of the current 3 times a day and going down to 1 a day if still improvement. Currently pain level 0 to slight so big improvement.:j :j :j

Brogusblue - any chance your house insurance may cover the decoration damage?

HJ - Hope the Op goes well tomorrow. Double wammy new boobs too :D

redruby - there is no such thing as a warm warehouse believe me. Being the Manager of a load of FLT drivers over many years, you do realise they are all insane!

What temp does anyone roast veg on? I always seem to burn it when I do it?:o

    Take care - DG

Lucky you brogusblue...............sounds like a food mixer and a half does that:j
Lady on freecycle today advertised a slow cooker...........only a small one so I didn't bother but then OH said to get it if I can. Sometimes there's only the two of us to cook for or the boys want something totally different.
So, I've e mailed her and hope I'm lucky. She lives in the same town as me so at least no travelling involved to collect it. Fingers crossed.

Good luck to Haribo for tomorrow. Hope all goes well:o
