Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
I felt sure someone would have started this by now.
Anyway Can't write much as I have to do the packed lunches and go to work. Routine Routine Routine.....
Have a nice day

morning n9eav, I see you are lurking, and all who follow, where is everyone today ? having a lie in I hope
Off to work today, I don't normally work on Mon or Tues, so its a bit of a shock having to do four days this week, I am doing my fork lift training at work , the chap that used to run our warehouse was made redundant, and they need someone to occasionally use the fork lift, I am doing the training with my boss, who is very nice, and I really get on well with her, and I suppose its something else for my CV
Chilli for tea, either OH or I will start it off, depends who gets in first. Its really frosty here, thick ice on the car, not looking forward to going out in that.
Pink hope your trip is ok, and that the op goes well for haribo xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Don't know about lying in, I think everyone has looked out of the window and gone back to bed - not just dark today, we have fog as well
Work today, so beef in the slow cooker for tea. Did anyone watch Dancing on Ice - I felt so sorry for Michael Underwood
Pasta, tuna and salad for lunch
Hugs to anyone who needs one xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Everyone still in bed ? I was just about to start the thread myself N9eav. not that I've got much of interest to say.
Tesco this morning for basics -oats, juice, tea, carrots and other exotica;)
Then some flapjacking and muffining for the school tuckshop.
Might get round to cleaning the bathroom, but that's pretty low on my list of priorities.
Loads of washing to do.
Breakfast -beans on toast for the kids
Me -finish yogurt and damsons (start a new batch)
Lunch- Kids are having pitta pizzas, fruit and a muffin
Me- smoked mackerel pate and cucumber on toast plus some artichoke soup, fruit
Supper- ham and broccoli in cheese sauce plus rice (leeks and ham for OH) yogurt and blackcurrant puree

Just hopped on the scales and I have put on weight:mad: but I have been out to dinner a few time so it was to be expected I suppose.
Redruby - good luck with the fork lift training, I will know who to call on when I need summat shifting now:D

Morning N9eav, Redruby & all who follow,
I woke a while ago and sneaked a peek outside and all i can say is that it seems cold compared to yesterdays really mild weather.
The usual early morning chores are mostly finished but i left the slow cooker on - i`m experimenting with putting some of the the veg & potatoes in with the chicken to see how it turns out.
I`m going to update the freezer inventory before i do anything else as the meal planner needs tweaking later so i need to get a move on.
Have a great day everyone.
Hugs to all who are in need.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

Morning to all who have posted and all who will post.
REDRUBY - Good luck with the fork lift driving! That's something that will be great on a CV!
Well, I haven't got much to say at the moment. We had a lovely quiet Sunday yesterday; I worked all morning, had a lazy afternoon sleeping off the roast dinner and then worked for a couple of hours in the evening, then watched Lark Rise while I did some more knitting. I love the gentle pace of Lark Rise, and the filming of the scenery and the villages is lovely. I wonder if they'll show it in the pouring rain, though, when there's mud everywhere!
Anyway, DH is not working today; the company he has been working for have not paid him for the last four weeks' work (their payroll office is staffed by 12 year olds, we think) so he's having to chase them up and he really can't do it on site.
The thing is, it's costing a fortune in diesel for him to get there and back and he's making sure he gets paid before he forks out any more. We've had to reorganise our finances and some direct debits just because someone else has made a mistake. This is the second time this company have done it in the space of two months so we need to make sure they don't do it again. Because DH is self-employed, it messes up our cashflow and causes such a lot of inconvenience and wasted time chasing up. Well, you all know what it's like!
Anyway, my plan is to spend the morning baking and breadmaking, get some paperwork done and work in the afternoon. Breakfast will be porridge, lunch will be HM soup (not sure what flavour, the label fell off in the freezer, but it looks an interesting colour!) and shepherd's pie for dinner, so that's fairly simple.
Anyway, off to take DH his cuppa and have a shower. Hope everyone has a great day. Will try and catch up with yesterday's news later.

Morning all - it's foggy here in London too. For once I slept quite well on a Sunday night; our bedroom radiator is broken and permanently on, and DH was fidgeting, so I turned the heating off completely and decamped to the back bedroom.
I had Friday off so I reckon my inbox and intray will be chaotic. I did a load of batch-cooking on Saturday, so dinner tonight is curry. Will also put the BM on tonight; am down to my last slice of homemade. Can't believe it stayed fresh for 3 days in nothing more than a plastic bag.0 -
