A couple of days ago i applied to change to click 4 from edf (online v3) due to the price increases, looks like i jumped too soon.
The price increase makes bg look very expensive now.
Is there anything stopping me letting the change go through then immediately changing back to edf for their online v5. How quick can i change back and will bg want their quidco £60 back.

Just wait for the 60.00 to be paid, then see whos best and make immediate application to switch, u never know EDF might be offering cashback somewhere at that time. ;)

BG wont ask for quidco cash back. ;)

I have just changed from scottish power to BG click 4 on monday through quidco they called on thursday and contract will start 28th february when I asked if their were going to be any changes they said they did'nt know.
As the prices have changed yesterday does that mean I have to apply again for click 5 I have not received my welcome pack yet.

Snap they phoned me on thursday with same start date as well.

Once u have account no etc, register for online access etc then if u want to upgrade to Click Energy 5, just email them through the online account and ask to be upgraded to Click Energy 5. ( Based on my usage i worked out Click Energy 4 is cheaper for me)

( u could try doing the switch from Click 4 to Click 5 via quidco after u get first cashback and see if u get another cashback. ;) )

@ erb and everyone else switching, please can you let me know if the Quidco tracks for your switch from Click 4 to Click 5.....

Also, do people click "Apply Now" (for click 5) and then "login to your account" or do you just go through the questions at the bottom and then just click to say you are already a BG customer?

    Cheers

I applied for click energy 4 yesterday and had my confirmation e mail. I do not know what happens now will I be charged the higher price of click 5, I cannot see why anyone would be chossing to change from the 4 to the 5 tarriff because the click 5 tarriff is so much more expensive or am I missing something?
  • No, you're not missing something. It all depends on your usage.

I'm in the old Norweb area and used 4122 kwh in the last 12 months. On that basis Click Energy 4 is £10 a year cheaper than Click Energy 5. But if I used 8122 kwh then Click Energy 5 is £10 cheaper than Click Energy 4 !

Yes Quidco tracked this within a few hours.

I clicked Apply now and went through the question without logging in. You click to say you are a BG customer and later on you enter your customer number.

millie you will be charged at the click 4 prices unless you switch to click 5. Are you sure you are comparing with the new click 4 prices that went up yesterday 8th Feb? In my case for the NORWEB region on economy 7 the prices are below and based on annual consumption my annual saving is £141.88.

    Click Energy 4 8 Feb Tier 1 33.382 p Tier 2 12.04p Night 4.518

    Click Energy 5 8 Feb Tier 1 19.268p Tier 2 11.319 Night 4.518
