Hi Looby, congrats on the money, your wise to save it, after all it was money that you weren't expecting.
Its a great feeling when you have a good clear out of the kids rooms aint it? My son is minimalistic but DD is horrendous, she keeps absolutely everything and her bedroom is a tip!0 -
Thanks GirlRacer, did think about paying it off my debts, then changed my mind as you said I wasn't expecting it so savings is the best place for it.
After clearing out DS room, I could have cried when I think of all the money I spent on toys.DS was saying carboot, carboot, I'm too old for that now.Won't be buying so much in the future.0 -
I know what you mean. DD was obsessed with those Bratz dolls last year. Have got about 35 of them and this year she's not the least bit interested in them. Am hoping she'll give in soon and we can e-bay them.0

Evening everyone :hello:
Paid off half the Vanquis Card today, will pay the other half when my cheque for the shares clears hopefully Friday, another debt will be gone and I can cancel the card. :j
Open a next bank account and signed up for a life insurance policy on the weekend through Quidco and they are not showing as yet, will have to keep an eye on my account, items normally track quickly don't want to lose £100.
Not sure which debt to pay off next, Capital 1 or the Next account, will have to look at the APR's going to give myself three month to pay the next one, hope the money in Quidco tracks going to need it.0 -
Hi Looby I opened a bank account with A&L through Quidco and that hasn't tracked. Am going to give it a few more days then submit a ticket.
Well done on paying off half the Vanquis card as you say, hopefully that'll be all paid off soon.0 -

Hi all,
I haven't posted for a long while, life has been changing for me. I have had my 40th birthday and I am still in debt, I have been busy getting a new job (which I love) and I have decided to move in with my OH, so I need to rent my house, I did think about selling then change my mind. The house will be an investment and I still have it as a safty net if needs be.
My new long tearm goal is to enjoy a debt free, frugal life style, oh and be 2 x mortgage free. My OH and I are looking forward to the journey - we are very similar in how ew know view life - money isn't everything - it helps -being happy is more important.
I want to move sometime in January, there are a few things around thee house I need to do painting, gas hob needs replacing and some other bits and pieces. I also have to work out a new budget and open a new bank account.
In the mean time I want to consentrate on my debt and on money saving. I need to start menu planning, I will sign up for next months grocery challenge, i need a few NSD, will start to make an overpayment a day on my credit card.
Know there is lots more I need to do, can't think . Comments welcome. looking forward to the journey.0 -

*Taken 2 bags of stuff to the charity shop.
*Made an overpayment of £1.00 to my Vanquis CC.
*Dinner this evening will be from the freezer.
Need to go and re-offer items on freecycle.0 -
