  • Over the last week I have been waiting for bits of money to arrive in current account and today I have paid off La Redoute. :j Will now write and ask for account to be closed. My goal was to pay La Redoute by the end of March, so instead Vanquis will be paid by the end of March. Feel good to know I have 4 debts instead of 5.

Been thinking alot lately where I want to be in five years time and have set myself some new goals.

    1. Debt free by Summer 2009. (or sooner)

    2. Look for new job, with more money.

    3. In a earlier post I said that when I am debt free I want to start on the mortgage, well I have decided what I really want to do is to move house - the house I have now was bought when I was married and was only meant to be a stop gap - stop gap has been 10 years. Time now for me to move on and close that chapter of my life. So after debt is paid, I think a year of hard saving then start looking for my dream home.

Wanting to be debt free is making me into a more determined and stronger person.

Also had a letter from Lloyds TSB, they have now closed my CC account, no cheque for 8p though.
  • Hi LL

I have just read all your diary you've done really well...I should imagine if you keep this up the way you are going all your dreams of were you want to be in 5 years will happen because YOU will make them happen because you have defined them and now have an aim rather than drifting and having no focus so well done you.

  • Five days late however goals for March:-

    * To be under budget in the grocery challenge.
    * Have 20 NSD (3 so far).
    * Take lunch to work daily.
    * Pay Vanquis by the end of March.

Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday were NSD, Monday spent 4.12 on shopping, 30.00 on petrol and 0.70p on Amazon postage.Today I spend 2.00 on the car park (will get this back at a later date as expenses.)

Paid 17.00 off Vanquis that was left over from last months budget before I spent it on something, anything, just to spend it. Waiting for 2 cheques to clear one from my expenses for 68.80 and the other for Envirofone for 5.40, Quidco paid out 11.20 this month :j and there is some funds to come from Amazon. All in all pleased with the start of the month.
  • Morning everyone :hello:

Cancelled my share plan at work yesterday, been pondering as to whether I have done the right thing. I will have 280.00 to pay towards debt and an extra 20.00 in my wages at the end of the month, so that can't be bad and when I find a new job I would have had to cancel anyway. Sorry for ramblings, helps to see thoughts writen down.

    Have a good day all.

  • Evening everyone, :hello:

Had a shock when I got in from work , had a letter to say I have been left some money by a distant relative.I am going to put it in a savings account,to start my saving for when I move house. This is money I did not expect to have and I dont want to use it for debt repayment as I dont feel I should and I am well on track with debt payments this month.Still cant believe it.

  • Thats sounds like a nice surprise, hard to say nice when someone has died but I am sure you know what I mean.

Be sure to check out the best account/rate to put it in to make the most of the money.

I'm pleased for you that you have a start to your moving house fund as I have read how unhappy you are were you are living.

Yes I know what you mean KM. Money will go into a ISA and I will try to add a bit here and there as well as paying the debts.

Been cleaning my DS room since I got home from work, we have been very ruthless and now have a large pile of things for the carboot, I think he secretly enjoyed the clear out, as he is now a teenager but he won't admit it.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
