We were quite hard on our kids in their teens and withdrew stuff. They are now 26 and 29 and so grounded. They have both said that we did the right thing at the right time withdrawing privileges! They didn't like it at the time but now with hindsight they know we did it for the right reasons. A difficult time!

  • Evening all,
I'm already drinking a brandy and coke:eek: Got fish in the oven and veg in the steamer ready for dinner tonight. Proving the bread rolls for a third time. I vaguely remember hearing that the more you prove bread the lighter the bread? Hopefully this is true - anyone else know whether this is true? Anyway. They are on the hob proving from the heat of the oven where the fish is baking.
Must remember not to stay on here too long reading otherwise we might be having charcoal for dinner instead:rotfl:

Hugs and best wishes to all.

DD is still round MIL's - she stayed for tea so not sure when she'll be back yet.

DH is watching the footie (Chelsea/Wigan) and I'm sat at the kitchen table with a glass of wine (hic!).

Managed to get loads of ironing done today (4 1/2 hours  ) but still not finished

Anyway, hope everyone has a great evening!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

DH and DD have been moving the bedroom furniture around for me and even hoovered so very impressed. Newly washed curtains are at the window and DH cleaned the window as well! Lets hope it helps sell the house.;)

Made shepherds pie for tea and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Put a really nice office desk on freecycle yesterday but have had no replies at all so far.

If I do not get any replies in a few days I might ask the local charity shop if I can put a card in their window and they can sell it.

Need to go and load up the dishwasher and clean the hob but keep getting distracted.

Back from my friends she is going into hospital on Tuesday for a knee replacement..............I hope to goodness it works ok, she is so fed up with having to walk with a crutch, I did not tell her that I am getting signs that I may also have arthritis in my right knee, its very painful, but it just could be my fibro making itsself known again, its quite a long time since I had a blast.

OH cooked the supper fish and chips with lemon cheesecake to follow....a couple of glasses of white wine and I am feeling very relaxed...........

Have an idea for a new quilt, but must concentrate on making the things for the craft stall..........I sold 2 of my cards today, so have to make 2 more........

Going to chill out with my magazine which came for me this morning a chrissy present from my DD, 1 years subscription to Country Homes and Interiors...........I love looking a other peoples houses.........................

Just got back from Tescos and have got to share this.

Went to put my trolley back, and as I did something caught my eye in the line of trolleys about 8 trolleys up, so dragged out all the trolleys to find a new boxed and sealed expensive Colgate toothbrush (which I pocketed of course and pushed all the trollies back).

However my 9 year old behind me was not impressed and walked off in disgust saying "If you think I'm using that you've got another thing coming!!"

OMG I'm turning into my mother!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

HUGS MARY43 didn't realise you were having such a hard time.

Survived swimming, was freezing after. Think DS is coming down with something, very pale and did not want dinner, has gone to bed early with some calpol.

OH cooked a lovely roast dinner and I did microwave sponge and custard. Feel mellow after half a bottle of white. Managed to get all my sheets dry today on the line, airing now, also changed DS bed and cleaned his fish tank:eek: .

Have DW and WM loaded ready to come on later when E7 kicks in. Off to do some knitting and chill. By the way, don't know if I told you we have got an allotment:j . Am so exited!

Have a good night all:A xxxx

    Hi dinx,

It's a funny feeling when you realise that you are turning into your mother isn't it. :D I'll add your post to the daily thread as that's where we post what we've been up to during the day on Old Style.

Had a slightly stressfull few hours. We called at SIL's and as we were leaving my neice gave dd a hug and they both fell over DD hit her head on hearth. I had a quick look and comforted her jumped in the car and came home.

When we got in she sat on my knee and I looked at her hair and thought oh no they've been at SIL's make-up then realised to my horror it was actually blood. Shes got about an inch split on the side of her head so it was off to A&E where its been cleaned and glued by an excellent Dr.

Shes now asleep and has been so brave. I'm deffinately abit wobbly and going to bed in aminute as I'm sure that when the Calpol wears off she will wake.

    Evening all,
    Congrats on the allotment jannyannie.

Hugs to all who need them - there seem to be quite a few.:grouphug:

i`ll be leaving w**k soon and i can`t wait to get home and open a nice bottle of wine to relax with, feeling quite tired really.
DH rang earlier to say he has hoovered the entire house top to bottom so it should be nice for when i get home.
I shall probably put the enormous chicken that DH bought in the slow cooker tonight too, we won`t be eating it tomorrow so it has the option of going in the sc tomorrow night too if i`m too tired later.
Off to Mums for dinner tomorrow which will be a nice change, i don`t get to see her as much as i`d like.
    Have a good evening guys
