OS Daily Saturday 26th January 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. I have not posted here for a day or 2. Just don't seem to have the time. I have been waking up with the alarm, making packed lunches and getting everyone off to school and college and then getting myself off to work. The OH is at college too, so lots of students in the house.

I am working today at 1pm, so will just hang about the house this morning. I think I will get the independant paper as they are giving away a free CD that looks entertaining.

The sun seems to have come out for a bit this week which made a nice change hope it continues.

Well folks I hope you have a nice day....

Morning N9eav, not many early birds around this morning, all having a well earnt lie-in i bet!

Wind is howling here, it has woke me up throught night, and then dd came and got in bed, so gave up trying to get back to sleep and have got up.

Lots to do again today, washing to be done, ironing, may do some ebaying as didnt get round to listing anything during week.
Kids and dh were delighted will there new games console i got them, its really put me in the right frame of mind to get that savings account even higher, to be able to go out and spend that sort of money in Jan is a first for me and its all because of this site and hints and tips from you guys, that we finally seem to be getting somewhere financially.

I have review with Debt Managment Company next month and have decided we are going to start overpaying it by a extra £100 a month, which will mean the debt will be gone a year quicker, to think this time 2 years ago we were struggling to make minimum payments and now im talking about overpaying things is amazing. Thank you everyone for all your help.

Right off to make a start, unload dishwasher and get WM on, having a roast beef dinner today as have football all day tommorow, 2 cup matches so the boys are very excited, cant say im am looking forward to a whole day in the cold and wind!!! LOL

    Take care
    Donna
    xx

    Morning

    (((( Hugs )))) to Hilstep

Off to the auction to see if there are any bargains - Mrs Mix, shame you don't live near me, I have a few thousand cards you could choose from (my latest auction bargain) ;)

N9eav, sunshine, you are just showing off now, but we did actually see the sun yesterday.

Going to see my darling GD later, I can't believe how fast she is growing

    Catch up later x
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • Good morning everyone!

I've woken up with a stiff neck, so need to get that moving as I'm off with a big group to a ceilidh. It's in our town, fundraising for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and we have a few people staying over. Great fun, and I intend (as in all previous years) to dance every dance :j

Watched The Great Escape last night. Never seen it before, and really enjoyed it. It would have benefited from some chooks in the leading roles, though. My, didn't they pinch a lot of ideas from Chicken Run  :rotfl: DS then told us of the time that he and 3 of his friends watched it at scout camp, and the next day started tunneling out from the camp :rotfl:

Oooh, talking of scouting, DS was looking on the net last night for badges he might do (they've just updated the badge list). He's planning Smallholder Badge :j :T There's also Camp Cook badge - does that involve recipes with mince :o I'll get me coat :p

DH has taken DS to swim club, and then DS has football training. It's cup matches today. We had a bye in the first round, the team we were due to play today has withdrawn, so we're into the semi final without having played a match

Pea soup and onion spirals for lunch, tea at the ceilidh - this will be delicious HM pies, hams, bread, cheese, puddings, salad, all made by the farmers' wives :D Usually you can take home a doggy bag for a donation to the charity, so that's tomorrow sorted, too :D

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Mix  :kisses2:

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all well today. I am planning to clean the car out today. It's very dusty and now that the rain has finally stopped it should be safe to take the hoover outside.

I also have ironing to do, and I quite fancy making a cake..... I can't remember the last time that I made anything other than Nigella's banana muffins, so that should be fun.

Well done dlb and Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Mix

    Take care all of you
