Morning Guys!
Had a rough night last night and feel washed out this morning, so am going to try and get some sleep in a bit. OH is taking DD and 2 friends to the cinema this afternoon, so should be pretty quiet.
WM is on and another will go on after. House is all pretty clean and tidy and DW will go on later.
Hope everyone is ok. Hugs to all.

Morning all - it's nice and bright here. Today is DH's birth so we're going to see Sweeney Todd tonight with a friend. Catfeeding for a friend tonight and tomorrow morning. Apart from that, my house is spotless (for once) so I'm going to:
- pop up to the shops, buy a breadbin, new iron and ironingboard, and swap a set of cutlery I bought yesterday which is the wrong design
- sort out the two freezers to set us up for the month
- slice and freeze the bread I've made in my Panny
- divide the packs of meat in the fridge and batch-cook something chickeny in the crockpot like a curry for freezing
- sort paperwork
- do some more decluttering, focussing on old bedding now we've started replacing it
- put my historical books in order
- maybe some genealogy later
Lunch is chicken and asparagus pie; dinner will be cinema trimmings.0 -
Morning all....................(((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))) if you need one, especially Hilstep...........
Nice bright morning, but windy........had a little panic last night, the heaing wasn't working, so phoned the emergency repairs, as residents of a sheltered housing complex they have to come out to us if the heating goes down, turns out that the chap who put the radiator in the bedroom, did not install it correctly, so the thermostat on the bedroom rad 'took control' of the heating system, and as it was turned down low, the living room heat went off as well.
We have adjusted it so it does not happen again, he will be back on Monday to put in the pipe he missed out and also to put a new main thermostat on in the living room.
OH has just gone to post a letter recored delivery to the Insurance Company complaints department, prior to getting in touch with the Ombudsman. We have given then 7 working days to send us the cheque plus £50 for phonecalls and the stress the whole thing has caused......we await the outcome.....so watch this space. I checked our bank account this morning, as I do every day and there is no sign of any money.
Right offsky now, going to see my quilting friend this afternoon, she has asked be for 5" floral squares, so going to have a rummage through my stash and see what I can find for her, she needs 248............wonder what she is planning on making??????? will find out later...............cheers...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good morning everyone
Was up early today so headed out to see if I could find a media storage thingy (I believe that's the technical term.) for DS's room. He has lots of cds, dvds and PS games that need storing but I just cannot seem to find one that we like and will do the job. Went to supermarket too and spent £40 but I don't think I will need anything else other than milk for the rest of the week so not too bad.
Plans today are to make some bread in the Panny and clean the health risk that is my cooker.Kitchen seems to have become very untidy again so that's today's priority.
Was browsing online last night and managed to find a gorgeous black velvet scarf reduced to £12.50 in the John Lewis clearance sale. I had a £10 voucher that I got from Pigsback so all in all I now have a Christmas present for my niece for the grand total of £2.50!!! :j
mrs mix Happy Anniversary. How will you make it up to DH?
Aussie Happy Australia Day!
Hilstep (((hugs))) to you and yours. Hope all goes smoothly.
Salopman Hi and welcome. Always nice to "see" a new face on the OS board - especially male. Which reminds me - haven't heard from Pennineman for a while. His photos really lifted the daily.
dlb you really are getting your act together now, aren't you? Well done on the no smoking and the money saving. I think I will have a look at Play.com and Amazon re selling cds and books as I have noticed quite a few of you have been successful there.
redruby the poem yesterday was beautiful. I have copied it in to my documents.
Vicky A congrats on booking your holiday to NZ (I'm not the least bit jealous. Really, I'm not. Honestly.)
JackieO great to see you having a really positive day. ((hugs))
PenPen enjoy your ceilidh. It can be a real workout when you do all the dances, can't it?
SOMO have visions of you lifting your DD up by the scruff of the neck and throwing her with all your might into the bath - well you did say you were going to chuck her in.
Have a super Saturday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning!
The weather here is dry and cool but it's a pleasant day.:D
I'm waiting in for a man who us supposed to be sorting out our tv aerials. He said he'd be here before 11am but I don't think he'll even bother to turn up. Ooooh I hate that!
Never mind at least I got up a bit earlier this morning and I've been fairly busy so far. The wm and td are on and DD1 is at orchestra. DD2 is off to another party this afternoon and I'm going to get my hair done. I've got a stack of ironing to tackle and I'm going to make a couple of lasagnes later on. The MEAF cheque arrived today so that will be going into our savings account on Monday.
Tomorrow it's church in the morning and then over to MIL's in the afternoon.
Have a good day!0 -
I feel pretty useless today, dh and I have an argument, I am supposed to do some work but can't concentrate. I really would like to just go to bed and not get up for a very long time!0

Washing machine and dishwasher are on and DH wants to wash our bedroom curtains as it is a good drying day.
We have very high ceilings so he is welcome to do the teetering on a ladder thing!
Made sausage sandwiches for breakfast and had two low carb sausages for breakfast as trying to stick to "eating plan".
DD(18) is treating her hair to a makeover and DD(14) wants to make the most of time with her sister before she goes back to uni tomorrow.
DH is about to go to the tip with some bits and pieces......
Wish this house would sell so he had a garden or a shed to absorb his time and energies raher than buggng us!!!!
Have belly pork which I might make for Sunday as he has bee craving this and has not eaten it in years.
Might do Shepherds pie for tonight unless inspiration strikes. Got in lots of fruit and veg as DD has been living off toast and pasta during her exams.
Hugs to everybody and see you later."This site is addictive!"
