Its the same here, you can have a meter fitted and if you don't save money in 12 months you can go back to being billed. We keep trying to get hubby's Dad to go onto a meter to save money but he won't. Before we moved 2 of us in a 3 bed semi were paying less than him on his own being billed. He doesn't like change.

2 of us in a 4 bed detached pay about £130 a year on a meter but its not a good comparison for you guys as we only pay for water coming in. We have a sewerage treatment plant in the garden for ALL the water going out of our house and our neighbours house. Costs roughly £50 to empty that every 3 years, electric to run the pump is paid for by the neighbour and costs about £50 a year aswell.
We don't have mains sewer in the village we live in so everyone round here is the same. IIRC Anglian Water want to put mains in the village and want everyone to go onto it. Yeah right! Cheaper to stay as we are thanks very much :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

My water bill used to be £30 a month, I got a water meter fitted last year and got my bill yesterday for the last quarter and it was £29!! I live on my own so that was my best option to have a meter fitted. This was for the quarter Oct to Dec 07

Just received my bill for the quarter January to March and it is £22:T Getting cheaper each time:rotfl:

Severn Trent Water - £580 per year - unmetered - 4 bed house. They told me a water meter wouldn't make any differenc - but it just might by the sound of your bills!! Will ask again.

We're £118 a year, but that's included in the council tax. We're in a 3 bedroomed house, with 2 adults and 3 children.

We live in rip off South West Water region and pay a whopping 65.50 per month for 2 of us and a baby... we all share bath water too and are very careful with water... we've got a meter but I'm gonna check this out tomorrow as it seems a lot compared to others on here.
  • This years water bill has just arrived, again it seams very low compared to what im reading on here only £164.82, but we live in wigan apparently their is no flouride in the water don't know if that makes it any cheaper??

The addition of Fluoride would be paid for by your local NHS, so would not affect your water bill either way.

We also pay SW Water  on a meter, but our yearly bill is around £400. We have three of us, one teen (LONG showers) and we are not particularly careful, still wash the cars when we want etc.... Definitely get your meter and line checked out. Good luck!!
