I'm sure there's a recipe on here somewhere for a bacon and onion roly-poly, which I haven't tried but sounds lovely!:drool:0

Really not sure where to post this - I hope someone kind will redirect it if necessary. However, please try a CoolTrader store. Not sure where they are most common but I suspect it will be in the north of England. In particular, go to the chiller cabinet and seek a packet of Bacon mis-shapes / offcuts. I bought my first packet to top a hotpot with. To my absolute amazement, these were not just skinny bacon bits but whole chunks of bacon ends - almost like bacon chops or gammon. And for 99 pence. I have had at least a dozen packets since for bacon casserole / stew type dishes. And the skinny pieces are still great for finishing off a hotpot! You can easily see which are likely to be the best buys because the packet is transparent. Good wishes to everyone who is discovering (or re-discovering) the joys of hearty, British cooking. Not always glamorous but by heck, it does fill you up well!0

Also worth trying your local village butchers if you are lucky enough to have one
