Hey all, I also have the yellow light problem. I rang sony a few days back, Not sure if it was with the number you have all stated but I got told that i would have to pay £135 for a exchange and It would be with me within a few days.
My console is the 60GB, i broukght it a long time ago so the warrenty is over I think.
How long does that last for anyways, i know the store is 12 month but how long do sony offer, Is it like microsoft and they have an extended perieod, Also i dont have my reciept.

What do you all think can be done?

Is'nt there a law that states they have to replace due to the system not complying with what it should be used for? IE - Its broken due to manufactoring problems at sonys end...

Also does anyone know were to get rid of faulty consoles for a decent price. I have one ps3 60gb and one xbox360 core....

Damn it, my ps3 died last night and it's nearly 3 years old. I'm on the phone to Sony support now, expecting this to cost me alot of money that i haven't got.....great!!!

Edit: They are expecting me to pay £131 for some refurb model which i won't be doing. Rather go out and buy a new one with a new warranty.
  • Playstation only offer a 1 year manufacturers warranty, however I have found out that they will will replace your console for a like for like console at the cost of £134.

Not sure about any other console.

    Hope this helps
