Has anyone managed to get an old style 'fat' PSP exchanged. I have found an old one we had that something was dropped on. The LCD screen is half dead but no cracks or that on the actual casing. I know it is probably about 3 years old or maybe even older.Dream as if you'll live forever - live as if you'll die today0

Well im about to find out.
My PS3 is 18months old and the drive has packed up I contacted Sony customer service to complain that such an expensive item should be of a build quality to surpass its manufactures warranty by only 6 months. They have asked me to fax over a copy of my receipt and await a decision.
I will keep you posted.
PS they said a replacement drive would be £99.000 -
Top Marks to Sony.
They have agreed to repair my PS3 as a good will gesture as the unit is under 18 months old. getting collected tomorrow, I just hope the repair goes well now :T0 -
i rang them yesterday as my sons PSP that they replaced in April last year (original only lasted 4months) had broken same as the original... he told me the replacements only had 3months guarantee and that would cost £64 for replace
have emailed their head office as i do think PSP's in 18months breaking does not show very good build quality.. we shall see if we get a reply!!

well hats off to SONY, i had a phone call from a very nice man yesterday and they agreed that 2 PSP's breaking down in 18months was not very good and kindly offered to replace it once again free of charge with 3months warranty
he suggested after those 3 months that i get the extended warranty then if it happened again we would be covered even for accidental breakage which we will probably do bearing in mind they seem to break down every 6months
so my very happy son has a brand new PSP coming next mondayWhen you know better you do better0 -

I have exactly the same circumstances as you; however have not received the same consistancy in response. Sony UK Support told me that my 18 mth old PS3 had a hardware fault (could load games but would hang as soon as the drive had to read the disc again). They told me that for £120 they would swap me a like for like PS3 of the same age and spec, however re-conditioned by themselves with a 3 mth warranty. I have read many many stories of the so called 80010514 error appearing next to the 'failed to load' error. Sony UK Support tell me that this error message does not lead to any diagnosable fault they could tell me about; just that there is an error.
I shall be calling them tomorrow to remind them of the difference in response and shall post my findings here tomorrow.

I called Sony when my PS3 stopped reading disks. They got me to fax over a copy of my receipt (even though I'd bought it online and had to print out my invoice). They wouldn't accept an email. They rang me back within 2 days to arrange collection of my machine and to drop off a replacement. Given mine was out of warranty and I hadn't signed up for the continuous play insurance I asked how much this was going to cost. The answer was nothing, zero, free of charge :j:T woohoo!!
Needless to say I am delighted with their customer service and have told anyone who will listen.
Hope you get yours sorted as well.0 -

this is rediculously inconsistant as i have received nowhere near this level of survice, mine has the YLOD and was told i would have to pay £128 to repair hich is disgusting (especially since in terms of home entertainment equipment this house has nearly £2k of there merchandise) and effectively told it was my fault for poor ventlation even though there is a good foot space to all sides and 4 inchs of space above it, i am quite frankly amazed that i've been treated like this when other people are seemingly extatic with there quality of service0 -

And also did you see watchdog last week. They were covering this and had a team of independent console repairers sorting viewer's PS3s out. Took them about half an hour for each one, very little actual work involved so its just shoddy on sony's part.0
