have just tried this with my sons ps2..power problem over a year old.

Was told £15 for new power supply or £55 for recon ps2, I mentioned about reading online about free repairs/replacement and he told me that isnt true.

Just wondering if anyone has any more info re PS2's. My son's has not worked right for some time (won't load some of the discs) & I seem to recall reading an article a few years ago that a court case had resulted in Sony offering to replace any faulty PS2 free of charge. My recollection was that this only applied to The USA even though the fault was universal. The article implied that Sony would be trying to limit the chances of this information becoming widely known.
  • After reading this thread I rang Sony Playstation Helpline because my sons PSP stopped reading discs, but he has mislaid the receipt. They took all the details but said i would need to fax or post the receipt before they would send a refurbished replacement. If there was no receipt, the refurbished replacement would cost £64.

Anyone know if this is still working? I very nearly paid for the information, but what a surprise a bit of googling brought me back home here :D
I have an original PSP with a very scratched screen and the analog stick leans to one side all the time.

They've now decided to charge, if anything goes wrong it's best to sign up with Sony's 'Continuous Play' wait a week & then register a fault.....
