Free replacement for broken PSP or PS3?

I did this about 5 months ago as my ps3 wouldnt switch on and our call of duty 4 was stuck in it. They replaced the ps3 as it was a 60gb and you cant buy them no more. They even sent us a new call of duty 4 as it was stuck in the ps3. what i want to know is, what if this one breaks down as i cant imagine them doing it again?

I thought I was going to have to fork out for a new PSP as my son's refused to work with any of his games on Christmas Eve. Typically we had bought him new games for Christmas that he wasn't able to play.

The guy from Sony was so helpful and is sending out a courier tomorrow to drop off new (well, not brand new but refurbished) PSP and pick up broken one.

Very impressed with Sony. :beer:

Hiya - OH's PS3 broke just before Xmas and was out of warranty. They couriered a refurbished one out on Xmas Eve which has a 3 month warranty.

This is PS3 number 3. So in terms of reliability not great, but in terms of follow up care, full marks to Sony.

I phoned them today on 0870 number. He also asked me for serial number that was no where to be found and then he told me to lift the battery out which i did to reveal the serial code. took my address and how long you had it. I made up since march last year. I am expecting delievery of refurbished PSP tomorrow and i amk give him my broken one with battery and charger back to the courier.
I give credit to Sony here, they made it so easy. The man mentioned no cost so i am assuming it will be free. The question is do they leave you with refurbished one or send you back repaired your original one.

just received my refurbished ps3.thanks for post.console was nearly 3 years old ,60 gb version which they dont make anymore.man at sony said would take a bit longer to get replacement as had to order mainboard from japan :Tarrived after 9 working days :jno charge!

Hi all i phoned four times could not get a replacement they wanted copy of reciept also i said it had a cracked screen and they said it was not coverd by damage and i would have to pay 65 pounds:mad:
also the 01923 653598 number is wrong when you ring it it says wrong number please check and try again has anyone got the right phone number thanks to you all

They wont cover a cracked screen as this is accidental damage and not a manufactoring issue, try totalconsolerepair.com they are pretty good for repairs and they give you 3 months warrenty after the repair, hope this helps

the kids 60gb ps3 wont switch on anymore. sony want to see the receipt in order to repair it under warrenty or £145 to repair out of warrenty:eek:

i used this info last year and replaced my sons PSP (which was still in guarantee) but now the replacement has gone stopped playing discs

anyone tried ringing them again and see if they will repalce the replacement.. i guess i could do it from another address but just thought maybe somebody might have had the same problem
