give the uk number when you phone and when they come to exchange give them the usa one, they dont check.

If they dont bother checking them,do you think you could easily give them a psp slim serial number and send them your original psp. Easy upgrade?

  • They'll probably send u a slim as a replacement anyway, my BIL did this a few years ago when his fat PS2 broke down and he got a new slim one from them, he did have to pay £55 tho.

  • So what if the warrenty sticker has been removed, if they want it all boxed who would notice? Do you think they really check them?

The warranty sticker has the serial number on it so if it's been removed you won't be able to give them the serial number, not sure really. I just phoned them, they asked when i bought it (xmas), what the problem was (not reading the games) he asked if the games were scratched (no, brand new), he asked if the console had been knocked or dropped (I said no and that it had been very well looked after-my son probably has dropped it or knocked it but I didn't tell the bloke that) he took my name, address, telephone number, and told me a replacement will be delivered tomorrow, I am to open the packaging while the delivery man is still there and to refuse if any problems. So tomorrow I am set to recieve a new replacement psp with battery and charger, and I am to give the faulty psp to the man together with the battery and charger, no packaging just carrier bag will do the man said. So thanks to the OP, my son will have a new psp tomorrow.

  • Well i have a new psp on the way from ebay so i will just tell them the serial number from that. Im sure the warrenty sticker only says 'warrenty void if removed' in a few different languages.
  • hey everyone i have tried everything you lot have said about getting my psp repaired or replaced and nothing has worked, they just keep saying the same thing, its gonna cost £65 to be repaired or replaced regardless of warranty or not, its a shame but nevermind.
  • i have the same problem as the guy above me, i told them my warranty was within a year but what seemed to cause the problem was that it had fallen and the screen had broken, do i need to say that it "just broke" and if i say that do they then check before they send me a new one?

i also asked when they picked up the phone if i could get a refurbished PSP and the man was very adimant that they dont refurbish, they only repair.

    any advice?

The problem was that it stopped playing discs. The screen was fine when you sent it. Damn clumsy couriers.

We phoned Sony direct and asked for a refurb PS3 (this was last August). Didn't cost us anything. They sent a courier to pick up the faulty console and deliver the replacement.

I was really shocked to read that some lowlifes were selling the repair info on eBay. Makes you ashamed of the human race. When in doubt, stop being cheap and spend the money to ring the manufacturer direct. We found the UK number in the manuals that came with the PS3.
